Tree Shadows • Time-Lapse Video

I shot a time-lapse of the tree shadows today after receiving a comment from @gillianpearce. She said it would be great to shoot a time-lapse of the shadows and I agreed. I shot the video time-lapse with a special app on my iPhone 6S Plus and then did some editing and converted it to a GIF. It took over an hour of filming to get sufficient movement from the sun to make it interesting. The moral of the story is pay attention to your commenters because they often have really good ideas!

Wow. That's amazing that you could get that change in an hour. I was thinking you'd need to set something up for 12 hours or so!

I went out yesterday to take some tree shadow shots but left it too late as the sun was too low.

Will try again on Sunday maybe. Would love to make a time lapse but wouldn't know where to being with the editing. 😊

The chimney that was further away had a faster movement then the trees which were closer to the wall. The closer they are the more defined are the shadows but it takes a lot more time..

Awesome shot! I feel like this idea could be expanded upon further...it almost feels like a shadow puppet.

Thanks! I put some classical music to it and it worked well but it didn't come though in the GIF. It would be interesting to make a story with various time-lapse shadows in the city interacting although it would take some time to find them and film them.
