Silkworms Fed Graphene...

Produce an electrical conducting silk

But that's not all, it is also twice as strong as regular silk!

This new discovery will lend itself to applications in clothing, medicine, technology and an infinite list (maybe even wearble electronics).

Silk has long been covetted for it's comfort, elegance and warmth in clothing, but feeding the silkworms that produce the silk strands graphene andcarbon nanotubes, it will now make way for new techologies.

This is considered now to be a"Miracle Material" that has been produced more efficiently and effectively through their enhanced diet of Mulberry Leaves. It was found to be even better than treating regular silk with the nanotube carbon and graphene.

Man Who Thinks of This Stuff???

Once the enhance silk is collected, it is heated to 1,922 °F (1,050 °C) to carbonize the silk protein. Once studied it was foundto be an electrical conductor andhad a more structured crytal composition.

This "Smart Fiber" could prove to have potential in Biomechanics whichcould show Physical Therapists, Doctors and even athletic trainers where the tension or pressure lies during exertion.

This material could also hold possibilies in Biodegradeable Medical Implants or even just have our clothes send information to our Smart Phones.

This could be an easy way to produce high-strength silk fibers to bring us one step closer to an exciting future of readily available wearable tech that could improve the lives of everyone.

Technology hasn't stopped advancing in my mind , also we are getting ahead of ourselves in that regard , everyone has started looking up to it like a miracle that can solve all problems , here is the most extreme view on that matter , if you are familiar with the Zaitgeist movement, or the Venus project , here is their newest movie on their ideas , I'm still not convinced and believe humans have more to research on themselves and reach before we should think about wearable technology and such , the body is by far way more interconnected and technologically advanced than we can produce , we aren't just not using its capacity , we are doing stupid things with it , not enough movement and even eating fabricated foods. I think we have dig in too deep with technology for our own good and are missing on more that life has to offer.

- "The Choice is ours"
from the Venus project concerning a "Resource-Based Economy" and a "Step Forward" for the whole of humanity , I do see the appeal but my views have changed for the past 10 years and cant say that is the way for me to go. I still see the major benefits , but am not a fan of the major changes to society , I'm more of a fan of gradual change , the beneficial kin , not the "destructive" , "revolutionary" , anyway too much rambling , nice read , now it reminded me of the spidergoats from a few years ago , hope they dont go there again :D

Preaching to the choir on this @j3dy

Very cool information anyway... but with EMF, I would never wear a suit... hell I don't even wear a watch.

That said if it could replace xray, MRI or CTscan in some way... it may be far less invasive.

whoah, this is an interesting mix of nature and technology!

I just want to know how people think of this stuff... maybe they ingested some Graphene! And I got a feeling we are on the verge of huge advancements in tech and beyond!
