TIL That 27 Year Old Stradman Paid $110,000 For His Lamborghini. Other Mysteries Still Remain!
Being a car enthusiast I somehow tripped across TheStradman's YouTube channel about a year ago. He had just uploaded a video about him being 26 and buying a Lamborghini Gallardo. Clearly the premise of this captured a lot of people's attention. People had questions about if his parents were rich or if he was a trust fund baby. Sporadically through this video blog he will talk a little bit about the topic. Often stating that he grew up in a middle class house hold and went to Oregon State for college. He majored in accounting and was working in Salt Lake City, Utah as an accountant. He recently got laid off from his job and so now he is focusing full time on his YouTube channel.
Here is the video of him talking about how much he paid.
So how the hell did young little Stradman buy this sick ride if his parents aren't ball'n out of control?
Let's say he graduated college at 22. That would have only given him four years to save enough for the car. So he did mention that he would buy and sell cars and that is how he made extra money. He has also said he lives extremely frugal and has never had a "professional" haircut. Another thing I noticed is that he is subscribed to Bits B Tripp'n which is a crypto currency mining channel. So who knows. Maybe he is one of the mysterious Steemit whales. Maybe he is Bitty Rich!
TheStradman actually does a lot of interesting things that most Lambo owners wouldn't do. He drives the car pretty much everywhere and even camps out of it. I think it is awesome that he is actually driving the car and walking to his own beat. I have one friend in Seattle that is so pissed off about TheStradman. I'm like, "Dude why are you so mad about him?" It really came down to the fact that he didn't feel like the Stradman was making a good financial decision because instead of owning real estate he has the Lambo and is doing a lot of traveling around the world.
I personally think the scenario is very interesting to say the least and ultimately if his YouTube channel keeps growing at the rate it is right now then that would be worth a lot more than if he would have bought a house with the money. He has went from about 50,000 subscribers to 189,000 subscribers in a year and he is cranking out new videos at a very aggressive pace.
In my mind TheStradman has positioned himself very well because there is a huge novelty to being his age and having the Lambo. That on its own grabs a lot of attention. Also he is very knowledgeable about other super cars so he is able to go around and talk about them and hang out with other super car owners.
The biggest question I have is if he is making payments on the Lambo or if he bought it all cash. Making car payments seems out of character for TheStradman but it is hard for me to fathom him being liquid more than $110,000 at that age working as an accountant for 4 years and buying and selling cars on the side. It is possible but unlikely.
Ultimately in my mind TheStradman has given up a life of sitting in a cubicle and living a boring ass life trying to pay down a mortgage for a life of driving his dream car, traveling the world, and being a full time content creator.
I watch this guy on youtube....
I figured there would be some other subscribers on here to his channel. His videos pop up a lot. So what do you think about the situation?
He explain that his maintenance of living was inexpensive, due to his location. He had a full time job in business but, He lost his job and now full time youtuber. And check out this link from socialblade...

Yeah it is saying 3,589,110 views for the last 30 days for him. Being conservative and saying his channel gets $1 / 1000 views that is $3,500 basically for the month in Adsense. He is progressing a long pretty well but I question if he is burning through more money than he is earning right now with all the traveling. If he can get his YouTube account paying out 10-15K / month I would say he is home free for sure.
I think he making great money...especially since he a full time vlogger.
To address your comment lower on the page. The older videos still make him money but only if he gets new views for them. On the social blade page it shows that in the last 30 days he got 3,589,110. That was a 51.4% increase from last month. You get paid out each month for Adsense and if last month 2.36 million views he might have only got $2,300 or so from Adsense. He doesn't appear to have affiliate links under his videos and I haven't seen any videos where he has more directly promoted a particular brand leading me to think that all the money he is making is of Adsense. He might be making more than $1 / 1000 views but based on my experience it most likely isn't much higher than that.
It's and awesome channel but his cost are kind of high. I can't remember how much he said it cost to do the purple wrap. I know he said at one point and oil change was $500 or $1000 or something insane on that car. He has been driving enough to have 10 of those!!!!!
The money isn't as good as you think even with a following of his size. It depends on where the views come from and where the advertisers who are paying for the ads that run are willing to pay for people in certain countries. It is pretty safe to say he is getting $1 / 1000 off that type of channel. But just think. He has drove the car 30,000 miles in the last year. That is a lot of fuel and I'm sure he is putting premium grade in it and it probably doesn't get that great of gas mileage even though it is light weight. He can expense those miles against his Adsense income but still it is a lot. Let's say 30,000 miles and the car gets 15 miles / gallon. That is 2000 gallons. Le'ts say he has paid an average of $2.50 / gallon. It's $5,000 or $416 / month. That is quite a bit considering his views have only started reaching the levels they are reaching. He could have had months where he only made $2,000 in Adsense revenue and for $400 to just go to gas. That is rough.
Gas is pretty cheap these days....I have to use Premium gas in my Caddillac CTS.....and I live in the highest rate for gasoline Chicago....his rates are cheaper than mines, and he making most of his money off older videos. He make several dollar a day on new and old videos. the more video the higher the checks
I'm sure the Stradman will make it. If that means he has to he will ride a wildabeast around to make ends meet and expand his YouTube following he will do it.
The ghost of Steve McClair returns!
I remember the first time you used the phrase Bitty Rich and how that was completely lost in translation with me! Still makes me chuckle.
Yeah I think of that conversation when I say Bitty Rich as well. Hahahah.
Full-time YouTubers make money from sources other than just Google Adsense. Stradman and others get paid for content, by featuring products or visiting establishments (he visits a lot of exotic car dealerships and customizers, for a start). I would be surprised if he plunked down 110k in cash for the car. He most likely makes payments, just like any other car. I'd say the Lamborghini was a smart investment, considering it is the principle reason people subscribe to his channel and watch his videos. It is almost entirely responsible for his income. Plus it looks very fun!
I have wondered if the exotic car dealerships are utilizing his for advertising at this point. It is hard to say. I have never made payments on a car. I don't consider a person to own something if they are making payments on it.
He almost has to be making payments because I saw another video where he was saying he was making $17 / hour after he graduated college for a year. Then he quit his job and was living out of his car in LA filming exotic cars. So it seems like there was a year and a half possibly where he really wasn't banking much of anything. That would have gave him 3 years to bank up $110,000+ after tax and paying living expenses and all that. Not impossible but not likely.
