More Throwback Thursday photos from my mother's side of the family blog thumbnail.jpg

Hey everyone, I'm back with some more Throwback Thursday photos from my mother's side of the family. This are scans I've done of some old school, actual print photographs.

Back on April 18th, I did a Throwback Thursday Easter post, and decided I should try to make it a weekly thing, and scan as many photos as I could each time.

I did a few more weeks (April 25th, May 3rd, and May 10th) before I missed a bunch of weeks.

Then last week, I did another Flashback Friday - I figure as long as I can get at least one Throwback or Flashback per week, I should get through them all in the next thousand years... give or take a millennia...

Fair warning - they're fairly random, but from the same bankers box I've gotten the others from. As I've said before, the box I'm working through is just the first of a bazillion I have that are filled with old school photographs from my dad, my maternal grandmother, and myself (since my shutterbugging started in the 70s... 😊). And you thought I was kidding about the thousand years!

Hope you enjoy!

Those are really neat. I love old photos. They remind us of the past, and all that has come before. While there may be a bit of melancholy in that sometimes, it more often seems to me that looking at old pictures honors and revives the moments and lives that have passed by.

I love how you phrased that, @jayna and I agree - looking at old photos definitely honors the people and places from our past. Thanks so much for expressing it so beautifully.

Old photoses! Nice to see those faded magentas and other natural "Insta" filters. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks in return for your kind words, @manoldonchev! And agreed - I tried de-filtering a few, but without that natural aged look, the photos somehow lose their magic.

Gorgeous as usual. Also, so interesting looking at the fashion trends - clothes and decor. Your aunt's dress? Love it!

Thanks, Fiona! I'm loving the fashion trends too - especially the soda cans on my sister Laurie's head! 😂

Bwhahaha! I had to go back and look twice because I first read this on my phone! Hilarious! My work-in-progress post out tomorrow also has "hair"! Mine... lol

LOL! I can't wait to see it!

Tomorrow - it's scheduled. Believe it or not. And it's the one I said I felt coming on.... lol
Good evening...

Very cool! It is fun to see old photos. Especially liked the ship!

Thanks, @old-guy-photos! I plan to post that one in a local FB group, and see if anyone has any more information on it

I love old photos. I grew up in that era and also enjoy seeing the furnishings. Where are you in the photos?
You are so lucky to have those photos.

Thank you, @rebeccabe! I'm actually the baby in the photo above the one of my sister Laurie in our grandfather's office - somehow I captioned both of them the same! Appreciate you catching that, and yes - I'm really lucky to have so many great family photos.

Loved it so I am going to do one blog about way back when I was pretty too haha

LOL! You mean, a blog from way back, when you were simply pretty and not as gorgeous as you are now, right? Can't wait to see it, @brittandjosie!

I love to look at old photos, so interesting, what was half a century ago. How people were different and how similar to us))

Exactly, @amalinavia - that's why I love looking at them as well. So cool to see how much and how little things have changed!

Congratulations! I just stopped by to say that your post has been selected as a daily Featured Post of my personal curation project! You can find the daily Featured Post HERE.

Lovely old photos. Even though I don't know any of the people of course, it is interesting to see a snapshot of life from the past. Old photos are cool!

Same here, @blueeyes8960 - in fact, I've gotten lost on Instagram before, looking at old family photos of complete strangers...LOL!

A poetry blogger friend of mine was actually inspired by my post, and wrote a beautiful poem with the line describing pictures like these as, "Stories dismantled without subtitles." I love that SO much!
