How have we forgotten?

How have we forgotten
what is so important?

How have we forgotten
what matters the most?

The old is so old now,
that it is new again.

It's almost ancient.

It's almost futuristic.

With courage to
display your heart,
to stand in the raw,
your naked soul shivering,
under the cold relenting
judgment of others.

Here we are.
Lost together.
Alone together.
We are found.

Reaching across space,
across time,
across the distances.

Heart touching heart.
Hearts of understanding.
Hearts dancing.

I recognize myself in you.

In you,
I find the familiar.
In you,
I find myself.

Let me step inside of you.
Let me swim in your eyes.
Let me dance in your thoughts.
Let me hold your heart.

Somehow, we have forgotten
the human within.

Somehow, we have forgotten
that we are all connected.

Somehow, we have forgotten
that we are all one.

Somehow, we have forgotten
to love each other.

Let's bring back what we have forgotten,
and practice it in the present.

Let's practice it in the present,
so that we can build a better future.

Let's make the old new again.

Let's remember.
