THE SHOPPING GAME : 14/07/2020 Honey Trapped
Hey There!!!
Greetings of the day!!!
My name is Rashmi and this is my entry for the The Shopping Game.
💜Masks On! Maintain Social Distance! Stay Safe!💜
So before we go ahead I want you to know that I am a 100% Homebody. It’s not that I hate social interaction or meeting up with people but whenever given an option I would always choose staying at my home. I like doing everything at home even workouts.
So being this home grown mushroom, it’s normally my mother and my sister who do all the shopping be it’s groceries, home appliances or anything else.
Psst - sometimes I let my mom choose clothings and apparels for me.
But today I was put up with a big responsibility - “To buy Snacks ”.
Another secret, the thing I love more than staying at home is food. So I just couldn’t deny and hence “Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept It” (Source: Mission Impossible) ....
Me - “YESSSSSSSSSSSS”
Of course there is a catch... Mom asked me to buy other groceries stuff for the house on the way.
Seems like I was Honey trapped.
So My Sister and I start home around 9:00 AM today. The store is about 7 kms from home but hey for a mushroom that still an adventure.
We carry our own cloth bags as My family is personally against plastics and environment damaging things.
Rolled into a Cinnamon Roll for space conservation.
So destination is The Big Market, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
So we drove there for about 30 minutes and finally after crossing a lot of people on vehicles, buses and more more people reached destination.
The store has a foot peddle sanitiser installed and the security near the entrance check temperature with the portable non touch temperature reader.
Entering the store I smell mangoes and other fresh fruits on my right.
I dash to the packed food section as my sister grabs a trolley to load our goods.
Then I get on call with my mom and pick the Groceries which include Rice, Wheat Floor, Different types of lentils, Chilly Powder, Salt, Sugar etc which form part of a normal Indian household.
So after excluding the house stuff my mission of procuring the snacks was completed.
My Snack checklist :
▪️ Nissin Cup Noodles - 6 cups (3 each of two flavours) -₹270
▪️ Parle Hide and Seek - 1 pac -₹30
▪️ Britannia Marie Gold - 2 pacs -₹40
▪️ Bingo Potato Chips - 3 pacs -₹60
▪️ Malpani’s Khari -1 pac -₹65
▪️ Britannia Good day butter cookies -3 pacs -₹30
We had to stand in line for billing and finally done placing our items in the bags.
My sister holds a Membership with The Big Market and hence we get a few loyalty points.
We head out and show the paid bill to the security and get ready to move out.
We drive all the way back home and I’m super exhausted though it was my sister who was driving.
The clock strikes 12 PM and the weather seems perfect for a lil afternoon nap.
Before I could crash on bed I was pulled by the ear, courtesy of my mother, to sort and arrange all the stuff bought.
After another 30 minutes I hit the bed and end my shopping adventure.
The Total Cost of my Shopping was ₹495.
This is about 30.9598 STEEM (Conversion Rate at STEEM 1 = ₹15.988475)
This is equivalent to USD 6.57 (Conversion Rate at USD 1 = ₹75.36)
*** So this was my first Shopping Game entry. Did not get to take a lot of pictures in the store because of many people and a huge list of things to buy. Will try and update another Entry to the Shopping game with better conditions.
*** All images are either captured by me or labelled for reuse.
This is one of the good entry of the shopping day, I come across.
Although Govt is also serious about this, it is the responsible citizen of the country who can enforce it and bring a change in our society. Little conscious effort brings a big change. So I must thank you for that.
Your mother rightly reminded you to organize the things that you bought from supermarkets. Very often who go shopping organize the items at a later time. Even I have experienced that very often in my life. But these days I am more organized, not procrastinating anymore.
I must say that the fruit stand is very beautifully organized and any buyer would get attracted by that.
"Malpani Khari" I have never tasted and for the first time I got to know such an item, thanks to #theshoppinggame. How does it taste by the way?
Nice reading your shopping day post.
Steem on.
Thank you for reading my post and taking time to appreciate the details.
As for the Khari (It just called Khari), it’s like a savoury layered crisp pastry with no filling.
It can be eaten plain or accompanied with milk tea.
If every you come across this you should really try it.
It’s a treat for crispy crunchy foodie lovers .
This is how a single piece looks.
Okay, I will definitely look for this item when I go to the Supermarkets next time. Thank you for giving additional info on "Khari".
Have a nice day.
Always a pleasure to talk about food.😁
Cheers!!!
Congratulations, you are a winner in The Shopping Game.
Here is an extra upvote to cover the cost of your shopping.
