The Hive. General update. SBI, Witness.
The Hive
We had our first contest, it got good reviews too. Maybe I made this one too easy for some.
We have also added a couple of witness to our vote. I have not added the names yet to our posts. I have in mind something I might try before adding those names to the witness list we vote to.
As you may have noticed, I have a strong focus on growing The Hive community, I can only state my intention as now. We are growing though and with this growth is what will show our own commitment even when the rewards are low. Each new interesting (although that can be said sarcastically), I like the theory or similar comments to these I hear. Encourages me to be more vocal and share my theories with others.
I do notice there is a massive number of stairs we have to climb on this staircase. If we do not climb one step today, we still have them all to climb tomorrow. I do not think this type of project can succeed with just us and our investment, it will take the work of a few generations at least I would think. Everyday we wait is another stair we have to climb tomorrow. Eventually it begins to look fruitless. Taking no steps we burden those not yet born with a greater task. I have over time heard time and time again. "I would do anything for my children". Would you reduce their reliance on the increasing need for finance? Reducing those costs is what I and those who support believe can be done. Establishing an Entitlement of Standards to replace some of the financial burden with choice and opportunity.
We are not against any other method of change. We believe a project like The Hive can long term provide support and reduce the need for some relief projects.
We held a contest YAY! The results came in quick, less than a day. We do have six entries now which will use up the rewards. You may still enjoy doing the word search for fun. The first six entries are from @onefatindian @bashadow @poyim @mimismartypants @newbiegames @gmatthe2

While I touch on the S.B.I. Our vote from the S.B.I is at around the 0.10c mark. The interest in using this promotion seems to be limited. Instead of holding the Steem for this. I am going to use the liquid Steem or SBD to fund itself from that vote. Each post made I will check the value of the vote from the S.B.I. and work an approximation of the reward when the curator reward is removed. I will then add that amount of Steem to the savings and let it accumulate. This Steem takes three days to return to the account as liquid. Rewards from posts will be used to purchase the S.B.I. whenever possible to speed the process. In this manner, It may slow the process on speed of the S.B.I. transaction. It will begin paying for itself though. releasing some Steem/SBD for use in promotion and growth for the community.
We have added a couple of names to our witness for Steemit. @yabapmatt @steemgigs @guiltyparties @steemcommunity @c0ff33a and @sapphic These are all witness who are active in the circles I find myself in. Given time we will form our own opinion. For right now, they are the ones I hear of and their praises sang out often. While we are small we do carry 14 other small proxy votes with us too. @derangedvisions is also a witness there. He has combined his witness with @c0ff33a
I am thinking about the design on the base of the page and do not want to be continuously updating the credits. I think it could look a little better than it does, design appearance. Though I am not sure what I have in mind will work. We can but try.

We do seem to cross paths quite often, although for me it is just nice to have someone in a similar time zone. I would say @saffisara is in a similar time zone - but she seems to run on her own unique 22 hour day with 2 hours nap - not sure anyone can keep up with that. Although you manage to hit all the late discord shows - respect for that you certainly work hard for the cause.
I don’t have answers - but keep working away and a solution will find itself eventually.

I guess on the "contest" I should have said I was not really playing, just trying to give a few others an Idea how they could play without feeling like they were copying and pasting, but thanks anyways for the s.b.i.
On climbing the stairs we have to remember that there are landings to take a break on every now and then when one is needed. Steemit is a very unique system when it comes to social media and real world ability to do something.
Many view it as a cryptosphere or capitalist sight when it comes to any kind of governance crypto and capitalism firsters.
Others view it as an Anarchist type sight, we don't need you telling us how to run our daily lives or what is best for us. (simple explanation but it is their fault that they are perceived this way). I don't need to vote because I do not need rules.
Some see it as a democracy and want everyone to have a vote in any changes that happen to the core of the system.
Some see it as a republic where we voted for the witnesses to act in our behalf and for our needs, and we can unvote them if they screw us over.
And some see it as a pure socialism sight, as in you have it I want it give it to me I need it more than you. I am more important than you. Or we need to give it all out evenly. You need to vote the way we tell you. You can have a vote, but use it like we say.
The truth of the matter steemit is a little bit of all of that. It is a crptoanarhcapisocialdemopublic. We have Anarchist donating to charity, we have crypto-capitalist donating to charity, we have democrats donating to charity, we have republicans donating to charities, and socialist not keeping the money but actually donating to charities also.
(yeah I know all the view's are stereotypical views of each type governance, for those governance purest, deal with it)
I agree we need all kinds of pies, we should not have to go without a pie because we do not like one flavour.
And if the baker can not make a lemon meringue pie, then there is always another baker down the road. People need to get over the my-way or the highway mode of thought, and just get on with life.
"You eat my mud pie or no pie" says the baker to the taker
"you make me an apple pie or I cry" said the taker to the baker
"Do you make lemon pie" asked the man to the baker.
"No mud pie or no pie" cried the baker to the man
"goodbye and good luck and have a nice day, I'll just go down the road and see the baker" said the man to the baker.
"wait" said the taker to the man going away, "bring me an apple pie, so I can make this baker cry"
with not a word of scorn or of hate, the man turned away and left with no haste.
"Did you hear what I said about my new pie" cried the taker to the man.
With no turn of the head or any such thing, he continued on his way to the next baker away from the taker, who was nothing more than a trouble maker.
Just felt like making nonsense. Since I feel most people refuse to look at possibilities outside their narrow view or beliefs.

Thanks it is all good as long as I remember to do my votes. I think soon it will be time to learn to use the auto voter. Seems the amount of engagement required to grow an account organically is enormous. My personal growth is coming along pretty well. The hive has been a great help with that. Where we grow one we grow all 😚
Truly delighted to hear you see an advantage of being in the community. I think most active members have gained a little over the time. In may cases I think there are votes they would not have otherwise gained. We are also gaining more and more visibility. Things look to have a positive charge from my point of view.
I actually look forward to the hive bomb coming in just to see how it has grown since the last one. It is going up for sure. I also like the fact that I got in at the start and we truly are growing together. I am still thinking very hard about leasing some sp. That will help me be more involved in my current communities as well as give some room to expand my circles a bit more. I was lucky enough to win a couple delegation contest a while back. It was truly amazing to see the difference it makes in expanding engagement reach.

To be honest I am involved in so many things at the moment it is making my head spin lol. It can be hard to keep up. I am wondering if I should drop something but may wait and see how things progress.
And even though I have known this for a while still I just got involved with c squared. I am thinking I want to promote the hive a bit maybe feature hive members in my next @pifc post with a blurb about the group.
At any rate I have today and tomorrow a booked up with putting together a family event. So sp will be resting over the week end and Mon is always my fresh start day. So I may pop in those Discords first of the week and check things out.
BTW how did that application for the alliance pan out? I somehow missed the results.
We got into the alliance. We also have a delegation to The alliance, courtesy of the Jan23com account of 10 Steem, not much , but our first delegation out.
