Mi nombre

Hola! Mi papá mi bautizó Thais, que significa "La flor más bella" o "Aquella que se mantiene bella por muchos años". Es de origen griego, pero muy común en Venezuela y Brasil. Thais era una diosa hermosa y muy sensual que encantaba a los hombres de su época, tan hermosa que se peleaban batallas por ella.

Fue amante de Alejandro Magno, pero algo le haría ese señor que la hizo arrepentirse de sus pecados y se convirtió al cristianismo...supongo que también encantó a unos cuantos sacerdotes que la convirtieron en santa. Por eso tengo mi día santo que es el 08 de octubre.

No soy bella como una flor y me he marchitado con dignidad. (Es que no tengo para el botox ni esas cosas, ni siquiera tengo celular inteligente para usar lo filtros y quitarme 20 años. 😀😀)

Educación y pasatiempos

Fui a la universidad y estudié informática. Aunque trabajé en los departamentos de tecnologías en las empresas donde estuve, no desarrollé nada, así que se congelaron muchos de mis conocimientos como programador, pero estoy aprovechando la cuarentena universal para ponerme al día. Sigo clases en una magnifica universidad: Youtube.

Ayer aprendí sobre el sindrome de Burnout. Un día te despiertas y no quieres ir a tu trabajo, estás agotado de hacer siempre las mismas tareas, no soportas a tus compañeros de oficina, sientes cansancio físico y mental. Sí, me sentí muchas veces así, pero no sabía que tenía nombre.

Estoy sin empleo, así que aprendo otras herramientas para tener oportunidad en el mercado laboral.

Nunca estoy desocupada, siempre estoy haciendo. Estudio un poquito de inglés, me encantan las conferencias o los TED en Youtube. Otras veces estoy en mi máquina de coser o estoy dibujando en Inkscape o Illustrator.

Education and Hobbies

I went to college and studied computer science. Although I worked in the technology departments of the companies I was in, I didn't develop anything, so a lot of my knowledge as a programmer was frozen, but I'm taking advantage of the universal quarantine to catch up. I'm unemployed, so I'm learning other tools to have a chance in the job market.

I'm never free, I'm always doing. I study a little bit of English, I love conferences or TED on Youtube. Other times I'm at my sewing machine or I'm drawing in Inkscape or Illustrator.

Mi familia

El próximo lunes 24 cumplo 51 años. Supongo que estuve distraída, ¿Cómo llegue tan rápido?, parece que fue ayer que tenía 20.

Estuve casada unos 15 años, pero un día él me dijo que iba a la panadería y no ha vuelto con los panes. Ya pasaron otros 15. Así de rápido pasa la vida. Hay que estar atentos para sacarle provecho al tiempo.

Mis hijos ya crecieron. El mayor trabaja en Bogotá como informático, la nena, enfermera, en Barcelona como acompañante en un geriátrico y el menor, que sigue conmigo, anda por aquí creyéndose chiquitito. Ninguno tiene pareja, así que no hay peligro de nietos, por ahora.

Tengo 7 morrocoyas de diferentes tamaños. La más pequeña me la regalaron hace unos dos meses. También tengo una perrita de 8 años, se llama Chispita.

Ocasionalmente me visita de noche un sapo, que está empeñado en creer que la cocina es su patio trasero. Tiene al menos dos años visitando, aparece con las lluvias. En la casa lo consideramos como de la familia, así que también lo incluyo como mascota.

En una ocasión Chispita lo molestó. Y este en defensa propia, soltó una toxina que paralizó a la perra por casi una hora. Creí moriría porque de cuando en cuando estiraba la pata. Nunca más volvió a ladrarle, se aleja cuando lo vé, yo también.

My pets
