Recording a new song for the Desert Mixtape! I need help with my production please
Me recording a new song called "What are you" for my mixtape called "Desert"! In my ghetto water heater closet studio lol. I still gotta work on it cuz i messed up tho. I had a conversation with a good friend of mine about my music and how i'm really not progressing career wise. He told me that Andy B, BP, and me have some great songs but the production value causes them to be swept under the rug. I have a really great song that's gonna be like the single for the "K.E.N. Entertainment" album that i've been showing to people and everyone says it's a hit, even with the EQ being off and needing some highs and lows compressed. The thing is i don't know how to do all of that. So if anyone in #thecut or just someone who knows what needs to be known. Please let me know if theirs like any free downloadable compressors, tutorials, or just tips on how to make our songs studio album quality. I'd appreciate it a lot yall. My neighbor heard some of our songs and gave my phone number to a promoter who's looking for local rappers to promote and start a small record label. When i meet him i want my songs to be top notch, this could change the direction in which @kenentertainment will go. So please help if you can, thanks.

Cool that you're going for that next level production! I'm not a sound engineer but I can give you some advice on recording that I'm working on myself. Really knowing the lyrics by heart (alternatively, freestyles also seems to work for you) :)
I think it's pretty obvious in this session that your voice and timing got better when you knew the lyrics and looked away from the notebook. I know, takes some time but could be something to think about if you're doing a few extra important projects! Peace and good luck!

Yeah this is sick!!! I can def EQ for you if you send me the stems!! Can also master it to a point although theres better out there!! Thats a good little space to record tho man!! ... but you need to get rid of that echo!! propa sound proofing is expensive but I do that by hanging up blankets and stuff on the walls to deaden the sound. also somthing soft behind the mic. The best vocal booth I ever had, had my clothes rack in it!! that soaked up all that echo!! ... made my clothes stink of smoke tho!! haha!!
