#thealliance 'House Rules' - Updated
'House Rules'
As a family, living together in the same community (informerly known as 'The Castle'), we are all subject to the same rules. This used to be a set of loose guidelines, but, things have been taken advantage of and we continue to grow, so, we want to make sure people are aware of a few things. One, that you actually want to be here within #thealliance stronghold. Two, you understand what we're about and exactly what it is that we do.
RULE #1 - Your Egg
If you haven't retrieved an egg from a brood mother Chericleps on planet Zyngroptha yet, you should probably do so. You cannot seriously be considered for membership until you realize - this isn't really rule #1.
RULE #2 - Quality
Quality of your posts will be checked upon your APPLICATION submission. Yes. It doesn't matter if your reputation is 75 and you have a million STEEM Power, we are all on a level playing field here. I imagine your posts would be quite good though, if you are that high up on the food chain. If your application and posts are deemed well and good, you will be notified of our decision. Please be patient as we all have an agenda and cannot immediately reply with an answer. We want to continue to keep Steemit a place of creative birth and enjoyment. We do NOT care for copied and pasted, a 5-year-old-kid-could-have-done-it material. People caught plagiarizing WILL be reprimanded.
RULE #3 - Engagement
We are a TEAM of quality content creators and curators - allies. We strive to do several things for each other. First and foremost, bolster each others positive growth with our 'votes of approval' and occasionally resteeming a much enjoyed post. We will comment on the ones that tickle our minds. Commenting is highly appreciated as it lets us know what you really thought about a post. We know you can't upvote everyone's posts effectively, but knowing you are there from time to time and showing your support is vital. It's just like saying, "hey fam, we got your back." Real simple.
Rule #4 - Consistency
Not only is quality highly prized, but consistency as well. I'm not saying post a dozen times a day, do what you're comfortable with, and then make it a habit to STAY comfortable. Maybe you post once a week, or every couple days? Just, once you start swimming, remember to KEEP ON SWIMMING or you're likely to drown out there in this vast Steemit ocean. We've had some pretty good quality creators fall off the grid and lose their memberships due to lack of Steemit engagement and/or getting greedy and posting crap. You want to take a crap, go find a bathroom, or an outhouse, or maybe even that quiet patch of trees. But, honestly, nobody really wants to see it ;)
RULE #5 - Family Expansion
Since we continue to grow and become a more solid unit, it is expected that new family members are welcomed by the rest of their aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers and cousins. Family is family. Families grow. Some branches die and fall away and new branches grow. This all started as a tiny seed in the pea-sized numb-skull brain of @enginewitty and now it's turning into a forest. Every one can spare a handful of votes per day, I vote on all of you and then some EVERY day, comment when I can and I see no reason anyone else shouldn't be able to do the same. Manual curation, automatic, it doesn't matter. Family comes first, be there for each other. ENGAGE.
*****Special Notice*****
Just because someone is accepted as a member or is a member now, does not necessarily mean they will forever remain a member. That is solely the choice of the ally to maintain the required participation level within the family. Members' content and engagement are checked periodically by the Quality Control Officers. The Juyo will also check to see the amount of support given to your family. If it is believed to be too low and an individual is lacking the desired family unity, then it is grounds for removal and MOST will be asked about your intentions. Notification will depend on the level of commitment you had shown PRIOR to getting put on the chopping block. Some may start strong and trickle off, some may not even graft themselves to the family tree at all. If you are or have been removed, feel free to re-apply at any time. All new and re-applying members are subject to the same application process, regardless of your STEEM Power or Reputation, and will be reviewed by the Application Board.

Witnesses
It is imperative that you vote for witnesses. They are the ones that basically let Steemit exist. They write all your transactions, all your comments, posts, upvotes, you name it - to the STEEM blockchain. From Steemit itself to @steepshot and @zappl, we 'record' it all. We have four in #thealliance that have dedicated resources to doing just that. They are @sircork, @enginewitty, @jatinhota and @guiltyparties. Since you are an ally, we feel you should spare those 4 votes to those that have the family and Steemit's better interests in mind. Please go write them in if you have not already done so.
Support Accounts
Several of our members have decided to create support accounts for the family. @thealliance is one of them. We do this so we can spread even more love to our fabulous allies. We have @killerwhale who is a random ally booster and loves contests. There is the @stsl which dedicates its votes to allies and runs a minnow contest to support new Steempeeps. @tyedyefirepower supports #thealliance members and shoots down any invading adversaries. We also have @themothership, which only family members can board and enjoy its lovely ride. Be sure to show those 4 accounts some serious love!

None of this works without each of us doing what we can to stay active and support each other. Thank you to all the family members out here! We come from all walks of life and are all unique. I love that about Steemit and how it brings everyone together. STEEM on my peoples and remember to keep BEING YOU!!
Someone mentioned recently that #thealliance is legend...ary and everyone on Steemit is eager to join in. Steemit is a community, find your community and you can all grow together - and many do crossing areas of physical location, language, shared skills like the #freewrite and the fun challenge tags like #colorchallenge , #monochromemonday or #marketfriday where anyone can join in and share their work while enjoying others. #TheAlliance is just another group of people posting on Steemit - but what it makes it special is the people in that group - forget posts and upvote for one minute - I have met and conversed with people from around the world on discord and one thing always strikes me - they treat you as an equal and a friend. If I went out into my local towns Bradford or Halifax and tried randomly to chat with people they would look at me like I was an alien, or as @warpedweaver so eloquently described me as Creative little bugger but the best thing is - @warpedweaver made my DAY with with that comment - because it is precisely how I would like to imagine myself. And that's the most special thing about Steemit, forget groups and community, when you follow people and enjoy their content - TELL THEM you enjoy their content. Because that inspires people more then anything else - knowing someone took the time to look at what you created and why they enjoyed it.
I love The Alliance family and everyone working hard in it to create incredible content, but I also enjoy support the content of the many diverse and incredible content creators this platform has to offer. Together we can and will grow - share the content you like and enjoy, look after those that are most needy, spread a little happiness each day with a comment of good cheer - TheAlliance is a group but it is also a way of thinking - a special approach where you think of others more then you think of yourself.

I completely agree @coff33a! I always preach giving out a genuine comment. If you loved the post then let out those thoughts. I believe the platform always encourages us to help each other and tales away the toxicity of most social media platforms. While most people compete for upvotes, we are urged to support each other. We dont lose anything from giving our upvotes, instead we only gain more. The whole concept is just revolutionary.

Of course I had already voted for @enginewitty.
I try to be as active as I can but maybe it does not always seem like that.
I do not want to promote my website and FB group here but you are very welcome to share your Steemit posts there. I get tired to read posts all the time because they don't make me relax but don't worry I read them. I'm more into music, dance and fitness. I also don't use Discord very often but I use it now and then.
Please be patient with me but tell me off if you like!

Thanks for the vote, every vote matters and is appreciated. I doubt you would convince many steemit users to go back to the dark ages of other websites or prehistoric social networks anyway though, lol. There is just nothing left there for those of us who have embraced this new world.

Definitely a set of rules that will foster the growth of a quality community/family! I'm still in recess, and I have been enjoying my time getting to know others there. I cannot wait to become a full member!

Wow, great to be a part of this Community within a Community. I think as #thealliance continues to grow our Reputation will get bigger and better as well. It's so good to hear that people do want to get in. And it's highly sought after.
Listen, I know I am NO Pulitzer Award winning writer. But I consider myself fairly competent and do take pride in it...and the process to get in #thealliance was by no means a cake walk.
So yeah, I do love the strictness in getting in. It really makes you more committed and excited for the long, long haul here:)
