This post is about Brooklyn Bridge and Janes Carousel on Brooklyn Bridge Park,
The carousel is very cool and detailed I did a post about it here if you wish to see a closer in shot of the carousel and read some details on it but in short.
The Carousel is a 3 Row Carousel, which I think was the classic style for large ones back in the 20’s when this was made. The detail of it is superb and well worth visiting if you ever make it to NY.
In this first shot you also see some of the Manhattan skyline in the background including tower one of the World Trade Center and the New York by Gehry building which I also showed In a recent post

In this second shot I am a little closer and you can see some of the horses in the Carousel as well as a little more detail of the bridge, I have to say I do love those support structures with the brick work on the bridge it really stands out I feel.
THe Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States which construction was completed onin 1883 and was one of,if not the first Stel wire suspension bridges created, its towers are constructed using limestone, granite and cement.
When it first opened the traffic was pedestrian and horse borne traffic, what a change to now with, a section for pedestrians and cyclist, 4 tracks for the B D N and Q subway lines and 7 lanes of vehicular traffic.
Update on my posting schedule
As I mentioned in this mornings post I am trying for a week changing from three posts a day down to two to see how that works for me and I must admit it did feel weird at midday today not doing my normal midday post, but it was a nice ish day so instead I went for a walk for the time I would normally have been finalizing fine tuning and posting it, which was a nice change and good for me.
and thats all folks keep Smiling and Steem ON

That carousel looks MASSIVE. I'd love to seeing closer pictures of it!
I will have to swing by it again soon
The Brooklyn Bridge so beautiful pictures!
Thanks kindly
Crazy! We must be on the same wavelength as I posted an image from there perhaps 30 seconds before you did. LOL
Plus I too pumped the brakes a bit on my posting to also see how it works out.
Uncanny how we were so in synch with each other without even knowing it
Great photography as usual.
Thanks
Your always so kind
I am not sure where I read it, but it said a lot of people died in the process of constructing Brooklyn Bridge? Or was that for Golden Bridge in San Francisco. I have to check up on that. :)
Anyways, great pictures as always, my friend. Loved the info about them as well. Thank you for sharing. Have an amazing day. :)
Thanks Kindly
I think it was around 20 that died during its construction
Reminds me of my trip in New York Summer 2017 . Can't wait to visit again.

I like how Freedom Tower stood out in that shot
It is such a pretty city. I didn't realize there was a carousel right there near the bridge. Very neat place for one. I remember your post on it and how pretty it is.
It is a city of contrasts some outstanding beauty and some mundane
I love that carousel it’s like a step back in time seeing it
