The best way to have a public get together. And in case you get a Bengali friend then you will enjoy the ocassion completelly. I went to kolkatta during the seventh day and was totally lost with the chaos and madness on the street. You wont belive it was like ma durga is at every footsteps. They celebrate the ocassion with complete fondness and all these nine days is like public holiday. New cloth, visiting every pandal (stage) and meeting all the known people at pandal. Whst would be better than this. Great enjoyment of 9 dsy across india.
