Your post makes me think about how we interact with the World around us. I try to stay consistent but sometimes fall short. And will react differently around some people than others in the EXACT situation. Weird I know.

As for falling short of consistency, I am sure we all do it, after all we are only human :) I think the main thing is that we keep ourselves in check and assess our own behaviour now and then and correct anything that doesn't sit right.
