For many reasons. Some I have explained before, about being a collector and starting with my grandfather giving me a pack of 1988 Donruss baseball cards. You remember, right? The blue ones where the coveted 'rated rookies' cards were the hot topic. There was also an early print of Tom Glavine and some fan favorites like Bo Jackson, Nolan Ryan and Don Mattingly. So, hearing that people were getting actual Steemmonsters cards in their welcome bag, I was so thrilled! Except, I didn't get a bag. I arrived later Thursday and just barely made the dinner. I missed the Steemmonsters presentation and didn't even get my badge until a day later.

knew that I love the game. Both for the collectability of the cards and the fun interactive game play. She did happen to make it to the presentation and was kind enough to swipe a T-shirt for me! Many thanks for that Princess, I am in your debt for your thoughtfulness. My sexy silver lady even felt impressed and wanted to be sure a few poses to commemorate Krakow were digitally captured.

Since I wasn't able to make it to the presentation, I didn't get to smother the creators like a lot of people did. At the dinner though, @aggroed sat at the same table with us and shot the shit. I was more interested in meeting @derangedvisions finally, and didn't even realize he was sitting by @aggroed and @meno. I kind of was even a little rude budging in to give my fam his due respects. But hey, family first and all. He does have a good sense of humor that he displayed during the dinner, which was a welcomed audio from the airplane engines. I did get a chance to sit and bullshit with him at the farewell party Sunday night and he really is a chill cat. Got respect for ya @aggroed, I'm sure we'll see each other again man!

Love this guy. I know he is probably one of the most busy on the platform and he has always been pretty receptive to my ideas and shared his with me. He even wrote the code for #thealliance's @themothership and @a11y community support bots. I remember when he first told me he was working on something, a game. I was so pumped! I finally ran into him at the salt mines and had a chance to speak with the man behind the glass. We hit it off pretty well I think and we had an even more extensive conversation at the farewell party where he just blew my mind and gave me the last of the promo cards! I was so happy because, well, I hadn't gotten any in my non-existant welcome bag LOL! Tangible asset. I felt like Albert Pujols just signed my bat or Tom Brady autographed the game ball for me. See you again soon my man.

You may be able to tell from those pictures that there is a bit of a rainbow effect to them. They are a fairly high quality print known as a 'refractor' card. They first came out in the mid 90's and have held their appeal to collectors across the globe, myself included. Each of these cards comes with a code for a free account and starter pack so, I may be having some sort of contest in the future to raffle a few off, not sure. Kind of in love with them LOL! These were a huge 'take-away' for Steemfest to me. Still in awe at that and just how much Matt and I have in common. But anyhooz - hope everyone is having a great weekend and REMEMBERING TO BE YOU!
