I am That DJ Guy

Hi, I am Dave - AKA That DJ Guy.

From a young age we have everything at our finger tips, given to us with a silver spoon. As we get older, we believe or think that we are not the same as the little person we were back then. Meanwhile we actually are, just no one really takes the opportunities given to them.

Everyone gets second chances, and another crack at making something different to what their lives are at that present time, to make something 'better' or where they want to be in life.

I was one of those people who didn't!

I was stuck in a dead end job which paid a lot, sometimes... I got to do some amazing events, met some awesome people, worked along side some of the top celebs and international artists. This was a brilliant opportunity for any young gun in the industry and not for the guy who wanted to make it further with the company he was with.

Like most jobs, the boss is a d!ck, but not this guy. He really thought he was a hot shot, buying his fifth house and almost a Million Rand car but yet could not pay his staff and treating everyone like a criminal and trash is an understatement.

It might sound like moaning and groaning about the work place but it took the one spark in my life, the lady who made everything possible, a no nonsense gun slinger to everything that was BS.

She helped this baby feed himself with that silver spoon and use everything at his finger tips. I dropped the job right there after 14 years and just like that, poof, unemployed...

After doing events for celebs and sports stars of South Africa. People came back for the magic i made happen with their event, at the previous company. (I was apparently a freelancer).

No more!

I decided to take it in my own hands, but with what? I didnt even get my salary for the month before. There was nothing!

What more could i do to get people back to me. Well people dont actually really know or remember your name, so that opportunity came with open arms.

After always hearing who was that DJ at your wedding or event. I was that guy, so i became That DJ Guy.

Since then i have never looked back. Top venues adding me into their contracts, restaurants who annually hire me for their special events and always going above and beyond for special wedding days.

That reputation has spread abroad and opportunities have come. Now is the time to make it happen, focus on what you want and make it happen. Set aside the time that "you dont have" and always focus ahead.

Full eyes, clear heart, can never lose!
