Todays Photo is in Central Park in Manhattan and looking across the lake at the Bow Bridge, a truly beautiful bridge.
Todays Thought/Reflection
Todays thoughts is about some of the sayings that perhaps many of us commonly use, which are at first take perhaps a bit silly but may have a good message if you do not take them so literally, such as;
We will cross that bridge when we come to it
I wonder has anyone ever crossed a bridge before the. Come or get to it, I think not so in effect its a silly saying looked at very literally.
However this saying can be a a bit of a good thing or a problem depending how you look at it, I tend to use it a lot where in essence I am saying it may well never happen so I am not going to worry about it now if it does happen I will deal with whatever it is then.
Now for me that is good, I do not like wasting time trying to find solutions for somehting that may happen and often more importantly wont happen.
Now other people and I can thing of one person of hand but one probably should not mention there wife in a blog post without letting them know so I can say I am thinking of someone else who is the oppositely me if something is a possibility its a concern and a plan of action should be considered for dealing with it, so a compromise to some middle ground is needed.
I personally think when I what if comes up you need to firstly consider how likely it is to happen, and if the likelihood of it happening is a good level then perhaps it is worth time working out what would you do if a situation arises.
lets look at an example or two
Such as what if a hurricane forms and is likely to hit our house with a high force.
We do live near the coast in an area where Hurricanes have hit before, so we do need to be prepared with basic plans have flashlights and battery operated radios, candles, food supplies etc prepared near the time if one was forecast and as such I do have basic lists of what is needed in such a situation. But again most of this needs to be prepared near to the event and not prepared well in advance.
One question I could be asked if we were ordered to evacuate where would we go, well we have some options such as the Kids in MA or friends we could go to, but that would all depend on seeign which way the storm is going to and where would be the safest place to head so again it can not all be planned fully in advance and you have to adapt with the situation.
Now here is where the compromise comes in, I like to leave a lot to deal with it when it happens , we will work it out and go with the flow, and others need some sort of planning, and thats what we have done with this particular scenario of a Hurricane or similar event, we do not have rock solid plans for what to do for any given situation but we have agreed on what are in effect conceptual plans that can be adjusted that seems to work for both of us.
So are you a We will deal with it when it happens or a Lets plan it out sort of person?
And here ends my 10 day reflection Challenge, even though some days I have struggled with a thought to add to the daily reflection shot ( and yes I know that is my own fault I added this as a goal for me) it has been good for me and I have enjoyed putting them together and i think I may even do random posts which I will call Midday Musings (since my reflection shots have all been posted around midday
My Midday Musing will not be a daily post, but when somehting comes ot mind and I feel like expressing my thoughts I will put one together
Cheers my friends for this who red all these often rambling reflection posts thanksfor your patience perseverance and support. It is truly appreciated

Its most likely about a balance, being too rigid and attached to a plan will cause stress and not having any concept or idea of what you should be doing can also stress one out. That said I lean towards the uncertainty side of it. I like being as flexible as possible with everything I do and I attempt to listen to my instinct/gut in the moment to steer me. Not an easy thing to interpret, but sometimes you nail it and its huge.
Yes I do agree Balance is for sure the key and I think me ad my wife balance out nicely for the most part as we are at different ends of the spectrum
But I am like you for the most part go by the gut feeling and i find more often than not it works out :)
Beautiful photo - you always manage to get some really crisp, clear, and vibrant shots which I really appreciate.
I was in Atlanta this past summer and experienced my first Tropical Storm- fortunately I didn't need all my stockpiled food and water, but we did lose power for a solid 4 days. Apparently Atlanta has never been hit that hard before, so it was crazy timing. But I guess it's better to be over-prepared than under-prepared!
I remember reading about that storm and how hard it hit the area, glad you were well prepared, I prepare and generally have enough that if we lost power for a few days we would be fine, more to make my partner feel calm and prepared than for me LOL
haha I hear ya there!
I guess that’s compromising 😎
For me the "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" isn't about not planning for something but more about not stressing out over it. As the Bible says "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 TLV
Yes a very good point that’s my interpretation as well but others may go the other way
Yes that quote if Matthew is. Very appropriate

Want to have your post on the map too?
You guys have been killing it with these reflection pics! I haven't commented on a lot of them yet, but have really enjoyed them all. I think the water ones are especially calming to me because to get such a great reflection the water has to be so quiet. I am a bit of an over-planner sometimes, so I appreciate moments of stillness to counter that tendency. :)
Thanks so kind of you to say
I am a super hyper person always on the go, so I am a go with the flow and improvise person, MY wife teases me about it all the time, like we may be sitting discussing something and somehting comes ot mind and off I race to do it, get half away there and think thats rude and race back to finish the conversation LOL
She has got used to me being that ay now and doesnt get annoyed to much lOL
Haha, she sounds like a wonderfully patient person. :) My boyfriend told me from the start of our relationship he only listens to about 25% of what I say, so at least I knew what I was getting into from the beginning.
At least he was honest and that’s s good thing I believe
I am the same but some may Call it brutally honest lol
Good JJ and yes she is wonderful I am very lucky
captivating site here.
i was lucky with a cool sky that day
Yes with any sky thos shot would be great, but yea I see what you saying this is clean tho.
Thanks my friend appreciate your support
I really enjoy how you have taken this reflection challenge and turned it in to a inner reflection. It makes these posts not just a picture, but a full story. Well done.
BTW- The key with hurricanes is to not be anywhere near me during Hurricane season. I don't even live near the coast, but have been down in Orlando during the last two hurricanes to come through there! Ouch!
Thanks it was gorgeous d for me to push myself a bit so a good experience
Noted to be nowhere near you in hurricane areas
My friends and colleagues will happily fly with me but if for any reason I change travel plans and am no longer booked on a flight they will also cancel or change there flights
I have been booked on three flights and had plans change last minute and taken off that flight and the planes crashed
Freaky stuff
What a fine photo. I really appreciate the oval shape made by the bride and reflection.
Thanks I to loved the oval shape that formed thanks
Gut feelings or intuition are always the best. Your subconscious mind is leading you down the right path. When we fight our initial feelings and go in another direction it doesn't always turn out well.
Yes I am a great believer in that as well
That is just a perfect photograph! You must know where all of the peaceful places are. :D
Thanks your always so kind :)
