Developers recruitments on TELOS (Telos Contamination Lab 1st Edition idea)

Hello, my name’s Stefano, I’m publishing this post to share a project idea to participate to the Telos Contamination Lab 1st Edition.

Definitions: Here below I’ll elaborate some terms used in this post to better explain what I mean.

Application: This project, realized and deployed on Telos or EOS.

Entrepreneur: The project owner, the one that had the idea to be developed and willing to pay for it to be realized.

Developer: The one that accept the job and will be paid for the solution.

The problem: I’m a developer, I would like to write and deploy projects based on Telos or EOS (or other side-chains / sister-chains) because of its high throughput and its enterprise scalability level, which would allow for any application to run without encountering bottlenecks, anyway the lack of information on the network discourage me a lot, I bet there are a lot of persons in the same situation.

One possible solution: To build an application that runs on Telos / EOS and take advantage of the smart contracts and allows the skilled developers to help the less skilled developers or even someone that just need an idea to be built based on his requirements, to be realized.

How to. The application should consist in 4 points:

1 - Project and requirements listing: The entrepreneur or should post his own idea/project to be developed, with all its details, gathering all the info he has and list it in a project description, the details should be expressed with requirements (each one with a specific weight) that the solution should satisfy and the deadline, thus the developers will have the opportunity to read it and place a bid if they think he can do it. When placing a bid, the developer should agree if to work in exclusive or in competition with other developers.

2 – Choose of the developer(s): The entrepreneur must choose the developer that will provide the solution at the lower cost and/or the one that will provide a solution in the lower time. If one or more developers (*1: accordingly to the competition selection flag) are chosen then the entrepreneur will have to pay (with Telos / EOS) to the application escrow account. Where the funds will be stored during the development.

3 – Development: The developers should accept and satisfy all the requirements and give a feedback to each one being sure to cover them all at the end of the development. The developer must explain in the application board how he covered the requirements before to release the tool.

4 – Project deployment: When a developer is ready to publish his solution, he will have to upload it to the entrepreneur using a specific application function, once the entrepreneur confirms the project is accepted (he has 2 weeks to test the requirements satisfaction), the funds are released from escrow to the developer. The entrepreneur may give a feedback to the developer using the application.

Controversial: To resolve a possible dispute an application jury may be called to review the project requirements satisfaction. If a requirement is not fulfilled the jury may subtract a percentage of the reward from the escrow based on the not fulfilled requirement weight.

Note *1: If a developer accepts the job without competitors the entrepreneur cannot chose him with other developers, the way around he may choose two or more developers if all of them chosen to apply for a competition where the winner will be the one that deploy the solution before the others and fulfill all the requirements.

Personal note: I would like to see this application deployed on Telos because it runs on the EOSIO code like EOS but it focuses on the needs of developers because it has lower development costs, lower CPU, Network and Ram prices that makes Telos affordable to develop on. Go Telos! :D
