Part of Decentralized Processing

When reading thru this article on blockchain projects, I found Golem. This looks like it might be capable of providing at least one portion of the distributed processing that I mentioned in a previous article. After briefly reading about it, I immediately thought it may be useful to do computational work like video transcoding for a decentralized video platform (such as @DTube). Provided it works, which, because I haven't tested it, I don't know for certain.
