It appears that the world of prostitution is facing a growth in unemployment. This surge is not attributed to government crackdowns or people giving up on sex. Instead, it is technology that is driving this trend. It appears that Austria is leading the way of replacing prostitutes with sex robots.
And people doubt that millions of jobs would be replace by automation. If a sex robot can be made to anticipate orgasms, nothing is off limits to automation.

Not surprising at all if this true. I've been telling people about sexbots for ages. They'll be mainstream within a decade. I honestly think my child will be the first generation of humans who will never have to get into a relationship with another human, unless he/she wants to.

I agree....the development of AI and applied materials means that most anything human will be replicated. Technology is entering every facet of life. Couple the development of sexbots with virtual reality and you are looking at an entirely different sexual/relationship interaction.
All of society will be affected by technologies.
Technology is 10 years away from seriously changing the way we date and marry.

That will be of course one of the first applications!
Sex is always one of the first apps for any technology.
I think people invent stuff and the first question they ask is "how can people get off using this?".
