Construction Prices Will Come Crashing DownsteemCreated with Sketch.

Construction costs of building over the next 10 years are going to come crashing down.

Contour manufacturing is going to change the construction industry. We already have seen a few building going up around the world using 3d printing. For the most part, these are basically test models. However, we are starting to see things moving along. Now there is a company that is building a office/hotel in Copenhagen.

The advantage to building something in concrete by using 3D printing is that is lowers the cost and time to complete. Using the traditional methods, a build of this nature can take weeks. With contour manufacturing (3D printing) a structure like this can be put up in 24 hours. Over the next few years, we will see speeds and costs lowered on the print devices. That will move it to mainstream by, in my estimation, 2022.

Here is a more in depth article explaining the Copenhagen project.

3-d printing. Yet another part of new technology that will change the world over the next decade.

Think like Musk. Make it.

Maybe the direct costs of construction will go down but will the indirect costs also go down? I bet not...

What do you mean the indirect costs?

Utility hookups, permits/fees/legal costs etc.
