Innovative Adventures - Unboxing my new Samsung S8! [My first impression]
After posting my question whether to buy the Samsung Galaxy S8 or not, I finally did it!
Is it really? Yes, it is! And thank you so much, Steemians, for unfogging my brain and helping me take this decision. It isn't the first time! You guys also helped me out with my Macbook dilemma!
Anyway, I received this beautiful package this morning, signed for it and obviously unpacked it right away.
The first impression was pretty neat. It's a black sleek box. After that, it's stacked with guides, earbuds and the charger.
It also got some weird adapters so I can transfer some data or something. Not quite sure but need to look into in some more!
After setting it up briefly, it was discovery time! It took a little bit of time to find the stuff. For example, I am still looking for nightmode on the settings (which I am not sure is even possible).
The design
As I mentioned in my earlier post is that one of the key features I was seeking, was the size. I wanted a relatively small phone.
One Plus 5, One Plus 5T, iPhone 8 Plus. Why are y'all so big?
With it's 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm it's slightly bigger and heaver as my previous One Plus X. However, it still beats the One Plus 5 etc.
Oh, oh. And the round edges feel and look pretty neat too. It's a comfortable grip and doesn't feel like sliding out of your hand as I would've imagined initially. Apparently, there is also this thing called edge screen, which lights up when I get notifications. Not entirely sure about the core functionality about this (it lights up when the phone is upside down?), but I like the idea :D
The Samsung Android Features
Like I mentioned before, it's a bit of looking around and orientating inside the settings to see what this phone all has to offer. The only thing I am currently struggling with is my habit of double tapping on the screen to wake it and I absolutely loved the function of my One Plus X to lock some screens to they remain open. In cases of Spotify (so you won't accidentally shut down your music as you clear out your open apps), it was one of my most loved features.
One thing I really like about this Android is the implementation of removing the blue light. I simply turned it on tonight and it works perfectly and similar to Flux!
The camera
As I mentioned in my earlier post is that one of the key features I was seeking in my new phone was a neat camera. I love the focus option they have here.
Look at @things' adorable face with focus!
Now I am not allowed to complain anymore about the bad quality photos of my One Plus X and hopefully I can make some amazing pictures during my world trip!
Overall?
Overall I really like it so far. The only thing left for me to do is to make a phone call from and to a Dutch number in order to unlock my European region. As I am travelling, it would be kinda convenient just to put some Asian SIM cards in it!
Anyone got some Samsung S8 tips? Anything I missed out on or some apps that I definitely need to try out? Let me know in the comment section!

Smartphone one of the great technology
Looks cool ;) Even though I switched to iPhone a bit before SF and never going back ;)))
@things looks so cute hehe !!! :D
What about Macbook though? What was the verdict then?? Thinking of buying a Pro pretty soon ;)
Aah yes. I used to have an iPhone and was dying to get rid of it - I simply hated it's guts haha.
I love my MacBook. Most design applications are initially made for Mac so for that it's pretty convenient. Furthermore I am a big fan of all the gestures which are possible with the pad.
Go buy one!
Convinced! [didn't take much, did it :P ] :)
It's a MacBook, it shouldn't need one ;D
that camera thou. looking sharp! :)
Yeah! Pleasantly surprised for sure!
A really awesome smartphone. Samsung has done a great job in making the design look perfect. Hats off to the team. But they should take immense considerations on the Note series as that line is still struggling from the battery issue.
Definitely. It looks sleek and has a nice comfort when it comes to holding it. So far, I am a big fan!
Haven't heard about the Note issues, but that it's just giant hahah
Next year S9 is coming too, I I hope they add some new features to it too.!! We should follow each other.! What do you say.?
I have written a post on Note issue, below is the link, if you wanna check it out.

Aah, for now just let me figure out the S8, hah!
Hahahaha.. Good luck with that. I was hoping if we could follow each other up. What do you say?
Finally you got yourself an S8 :D
I'm also planning for an upgrade but I might wait a lil more :P
Yes! A good replacement for my One Plus X if I may say so my self :D
Ah, why wait?
In 2 months, S9 will be out and S8 prices will be lowered!
If I make enough by then, I might as well go for S9 :D
Probably, but I couldn't wait another two months!
Let me know how it is though, very curious!
Yeah I understand. When you starting your world trip? And which is gonna be the first country?
I'll surely let you know ;)
In 2,5 weeks :O::O
First stop will be Thailand! And I will definitely be posting everything on Steemit :D
Awesome! :D
See you in India ;)
If I have money left I might visit India at the end of my trip!
Can you imagine a time without smart phones?
Maybe where there is more freedom? But I'd be scared without a phone. There's no way to reach out on your own!
Can you Upvote my last post please, i need some support thank you so much :)
