Innovative Advantures - To Samsung S8 or not to Samsung S8? Looking for smartphone suggestions!
I have had my One Plus X for two years now and I am a happy user.
However, recently it started acting up. Think of slow charging, quick battery draining etc. Also I really can't afford these type of issues when I find myself in a situation during my world trip!
It has been two years and it is time it should get replaced. Recently, the Samsung S8 (yes, without the +) has caught my attention. The people I know and who have it, are quite happy about it and the smaller size really charms me.
Briefly, what am I looking for in a phone?
Why are phones so big?
One Plus 5, One Plus 5T, iPhone 8 Plus. Why are y'all so big? I have tiny hands and I would like to reach the top navigation bar without having to move the phone's position in my hand.
The Samsung S8 has a nice-to-handle size with it's 159mm and it's thin, sleek body. Wait, let me turn on some Barry White.
I am not an Apple fan
When it comes to smartphones at least. I bought my first Macbook this year and I couldn't be happier <3 Loooove!
Swag camera
I would LOVE a good camera in here as my phone would be the only photo resource during my world trip. I have been complaining earlier about my outdated One Plus X camera, and with a new smartphone purchase, I want a sweet ass camera in there. Some nice focus, some nice quality. Bring on the the crispy photos!
Quick charging
Yes! When I finally find some source of power, I would like it to soak up all the power juices to make it run awesome again.
What is your opinion about the Samsung S8? Or do you have even better suggestions?

Alright, so based on your requirements, the priorities are high MP camera, Android, and a size that fits your tiny hands.
Samsung S8 match all that. What are your other options?

It mentions that S8 seems to have a subtly higher saturation of colors on screen and that the front camera made the tester's skin feel pale. Other sources are saying it's excellent for any pictures of any light condition (dark or bright). The battery life for S8 seems to be a bit less than Pixel 2.

I currently use the s8+, but my friend recently bought the s8 and he loves it. The battery life is enough to last a full day and since Samsung has optimised its software to be more efficient, it lasts even longer than before. The OLED display is as good as you expect from Samsung and of course the camera outranks Apple by a long run.

I don't have a doubt for all the qualities of samsung s8 however are they not on the expensive side?
They are 600-700 euros on the market, depending on where you get it. Doesn't sound too bad.
samsung is a very durable, and very good medium.
Ich habe ein OnePlus 3 seit ca. 1.5 Jahren und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Es ist vielleicht für dich ein bisschen zu gross aber ich weiss nicht wie viel grösser das OP3 im Vergleich zum S8 ist.
Ich kann dir aber auch nichts zu anderen Handys sagen, weil ich bisher nur ein iPhone 4 und das OP3 hatte.
The OP3 is quite a lot bigger. My friend has it and I think it's too large. I think the OP5 and the OP5T are similar sizes, hence I didn't look into those in the first place.

You have a macBook, couldn’t be happier but don’t like an iPhone ? it’s so nice to have everything synced through iCloud. Make a picture on your phone open the macbook, start writing a post on the macbook add saïd picture thats already in icloud ... well you get the picture. Also steemify is on iPhone so that’s basically the only reason you need. but I’m an apple fan so I might just well be biased 😁
Hehe. I lovelove my Macbook, but I hated iPhone. I used to have the 4 and I was so done with it after a couple of months. It simply bored me. I like to play around with my settings, which Android allows.
And I use Google Photos to sync my photos, so I can access it from anywhere! Documents are synced with OneDrive, so I got a little bit of everything :D
Haha, yeah! I read about it and I'd love to try it out. I hope they will make an Android app soon!
'They' would be me ... (I'm one of the blockbrothers) I'm hoping we will too. there's lots going on at the moment with us being Witness as well, so there's lots of servers to setup and maintain en whatnot, but once that all is running smoothly who knows what the next project will be ;)

Also, maybe you would consider voting for @blockbrothers as witness. The higher our ranking, the more blockrewards, the easier it will be to pay our dev to develop an android version of Steemify ;)

It's hard to say as it's a matter of preference. I just upgraded to the Galaxy Note 8 and it's an amazing phone.
*I'm not sure where you live but Samsung is offering a $400 rebate if you trade in your old phone.
Oh wow, $400 is a lot! I am in Germany and/or Netherlands!
