7 Proofs That Prove We Are Already Living In The Future

in #technology8 years ago

Technology is always changing the world around us. We humans are always on the hunt for better ways of doing things that will enrich our lives and make them more convenient. You can call that being increasingly lazy but I consider it the natural course of things.

Our eyes are always looking at the future and we are always imagining the possibilities that the future beholds. We are so busy contemplating the future that we often forget to take a look at the present and notice how far we've come already.

In this post I present to you 7 proofs that will make you believe that we are already living in the future, that our lives are already futuristic compared to just 10 years ago!

1. Increasing Storage

Just take a look at how much the storage capacity of chips have increased. From 128 MB to 128 GB on such a small chip! That's 57,000 photos, 18,600 songs and 5,000 apps, all in a tiny piece of silicon.

2. 3D Pens

Ever wanted to draw in air? Well now you can! This 3D pen allows you to draw things in air. A liquid plastic quickly solidifies as soon as it leaves the pen to give form to whatever you draw.

3. Real Time Translator

Gif Credits

We are not impressed that much by new technology as we used to be. But if you think about it, this real time language translator app is just awe-inspiring. A mobile phone recognises the text in a photo and translates it in real time in your preferred language. This is so useful while travelling aboard and with communicating with people who speak different languages.

4. Micro Robots

These tiny specs that you see in the photo are two micro robots that are used for targeted delivery of drugs in your body. These robots are so tiny that they can swim in the bloodstream and even inside your eyeball.

Robots like these will play a huge role in the medical field where they cold wage wars with diseases inside your body, strengthening your immunity artificially!

5. Real Time Note-Taking Highlighters

Gif Credits

Ever wanted an electronic format of text in books but were too lazy to type? Fear not! This magic highlighter is here. This scans the text on a paper and converts them to text on a computer. It saves a lot of typing time and energy!

6. Gestures Everywhere

Gif Credits

Nothing is more sci-fi like than to be able to control your electronic devices with a flick of the wrist and a snap of the fingers. Feels almost like magic doesn't it? Well, to the humans of the 20th century even, this really would seem like magic.

7. Chameleon Band-Aids

Ever had minor injuries only to have them covered with those unfitting, beige band-aids? Well, now you can camouflage them and it is so damn futuristic. These "chameleon band-aids" change their colour to match the colour of the skin. You won't even notice one on your body if you didn't look close enough.

i'll be impressed when they make an auto-subtitle thingie for everything people say.

that's actually a very good idea! I hear they are working on a universal translator tech that can do just that!

wow, some of the items I had read about but most of them I didn't know existed. very cool

Wow, had no idea about the 3D pens! Technology is really incredible, but what's more impressive is the innovation, imagination, and volition of humanity to create it!

very true! :)
