USELESS fact No 2: The Firefox animal is not actually a fox

in #technology8 years ago (edited)

The animal is actually a red panda

Red panda is slightly larger than a domestic cat and it's native to Himalayas and western China.
So why did they use a red panda instead of a fox? Because "firefox" is actually the nickname for the rare panda species.

They mostly eat bamboo, that's why they are currently classified as "vulnerable" by IUCN. Bamboo contains very little nutritional value therefore they have to eat a lot of it in order to meet their daily energy needs. It also doesn't help that natural bamboo supply is constantly shrinking.

Here is the photo:

They are cute. I should get one as a pet.

My first useless fact.

I'm kinda #bored
