The sensation of riding one is a cross between surfing and flying over the water. It looks like a very fun toy indeed.
They are easy to assemble and disassemble, weigh about 40 pounds, and can be purchased from LiftFoils.com for around $12,000 which seems a bit steep.

@luzcypher Wow that's probably the coolest toy I have ever seen. I love the way the guy in the vid cruises past people on paddleboards leaving them labouring away and feeling like a chump hehe
$12,000 for probably $300 parts at best a good deal.
They said they built their first ones from off the shelf parts so you're probably right about the cost to build. The wireless, Bluetooth, computer controller and the batteries probably costs some money though.

Get a Lift Foil, take it into your workshop and add a surfboard sail to it ala windsurfing, then you have a powered wind surfing toy that can go even higher and do more amazing tricks. :)
