Samsung faces tough competition with Shomei, making Redmi Note 4 the best selling phone.

In India, Chinese handset maker Shawomi is second with 22.3% market share and its Redmi Note 4 model is the country's best-selling phone in the third quarter.

Counterpoint, in its initial estimate for the third quarter of 2017, said that South Korean giant Samsung is constantly topping the Indian smartphone market and its market share is 22.8 percent.

Tarun Pathak, associate director (mobile device and ecosystem) of Counterpoint Research, said, "The credit for the rise of the Shawmi brand in India can be given to the fact that mid-range (around Rs 10,000) Shomey reached the Indian market at the right time with his Radmi Note 4 and without losing time, became the best-selling model of the market. "

Pathak said, "Offline extension with Shaoomi's right device portfolio helped the smartphone maker to make its strongest place in the Indian market after Samsung pioneer."

In the third quarter of the year 2017, Chinese smartphone companies Vivo and Oppo recorded growth rates of 121% and 117% respectively. During this period, Samsung's sales were the highest recorded in the third quarter till now and it grew by 13 percent on year-to-year basis and 32 percent on quarter-on-quarter basis.
