Why Google Chrome show a Dinosaur when is Offline?

in #technology6 years ago

Today I had a very difficult work day, in which I had to struggle with the recurrent problems of the lack of Internet availability (Here, in Venezuela there is usually a poor quality in the service), and then I tripped many times with the dinosaur Google Chrome.

The dinosaur was my companion of the day, the only one who did not say anything while everyone called me asking for the service, then in one of those moments I asked myself many questions in which I would like them to help me get their correct answer.

Who created it? What is the Objetive? Why does it appear only when a page is offline? Why Google chose a dinousario and not something more representative of its brand? ; By the way, share your experience in the game, what is the maximum score you have reached? Tell me!!

To reward your answers I will use the rewards system @steem-bounty

If you are new to the concept check out how bounties work here with this link . There are tutorials in various languages.

i didn't know about it until i stumbled on your post.. my guess is that the developers want to entertain (something to kill boredom) you while you don't have internet connectivity.

on an entirely different note, why are you in Venezuela? do you live there?

That's right, I'm Venezuelan, thanks for commenting.

i see.. i hope things are getting better where you're at.

It's a game? Did you try playing it?

Well, as mentioned in other answers here its simply a game you can play when you are offline.

I think the developers just tried to offer a fun way of waiting. And who don't like a clumsy small T-Rex? 😂

WOW TRHX BRO!

It's more fun than just a timed out screen or an error message and dinosaurs are cool 😺

My theory: Google is trying to tell you that your internet provider is so bad, old and crappy that it should have been taken over by evolution a long time ago!

That said great question and I hope someone will come up with a real answer!

From my understanding, it is a way to keep you engaged and stick to the browser even in case internet is down.

What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.

Congratulations to the following winner(s) of the bounty!

  • @dillagr has earned 0.351 SBD. 0 SBD from the creator of the bounty and 0.351 SBD from the community!
  • @yourinfo has earned 0.101 SBD. 0 SBD from the creator of the bounty and 0.101 SBD from the community!
  • @elleok has earned 0.043 SBD. 0 SBD from the creator of the bounty and 0.043 SBD from the community!

Maybe it's an entertaining way that the creators of chrome designed so that the wait is not boring, as as they already commented... but here in Venezuela it stopped being entertaining 😭
