📷 Decade-Old Goodies 📷
Would you still hang on to these items today?
It's good to see these after moving into my parents' house since these were so valuable and some of them are still usable.
We're all tired and still busy rearranging things but I feel so excited about being home so I spent a few more minutes of the night to share these photos with you.
PS1 Keyboard?
It's a surprising find. I don't know why it hasn't been disposed of. Can you now imagine how much of a hoarder I am? I usually regret not being able to keep something when It turns out I need it. Now, I changed perspective. I no longer want to keep too much scrap materials and waste time building things my own way. I have decided to build/assemble things in a more professional manner. I promised myself to avoid resoldering really old wires and jacks. - I'd rather buy new cords (which are sealed and oxygen-free) instead of losing time to post on Steemit!
The 'wall mic stand'
This is where I recorded the demo my first songs. I made it out of scrap aluminum. The main tube was a broken TV antenna, the pop filter made from a peanut butter jar lid and old stockings.
The Oldest Electric Fan at Home
It's been my aunt's fan since time immemorial. It's still fully functional except for a glitchy timer. It even outlasted a couple modern electric fans I bought myself. Wow!
My Favorite PC Game
In Stunning 256 Colors!!!
Rewritable CDs
I'm not sure if they're still working but I got a working CD-ROM now and I'll check them out when I have time.
Trusty Old Speakers
They've been transferred and rewired from one amplifier to another. I used spray-paint to strengthen the aging woofer cones about a decade ago and I like the way it changed the sound. The paint added a bit of weight to the cone but instead of dulling the sound, it became crisper in the low-mid-range.
CRT Monitor
It's my brothers' so I just moved it to the stockroom. I'll probably confirm whether it should go to the junkshop tomorrow along with old PC casings and printers.
The Label Maker
For years, this ingenious labeling solution worked like a charm - until we could no longer find a matching plastic tape needed for it to work. Is this technology obsolete? Please share your ideas below. And last but not the least...
The Soundproofing Foam
After ten years, here I am, setting up the recording studio just like the first time. My gear is far from complete and it's relieving to find this really basic sound-resistance still holding up to dust and repeated door opening/closing.
What decade-old things do you still find useful?
By the way, I just can't look for them in the closet (It's 3:30 AM) but I still wear a couple of decade-old shirts! Please feel free to comment below. You may receive a little tip (just a very small amount to show my appreciation) if you comment with any photos of your 'decade-old Goodies'.
Updates:
A decade–old shirt of mine!
It's got really good rubber print. All my other rubberized shirts have lost their prints. As far as I remember, I bought this at Legacy in 2003 or 2004.
A 2-decade old toy and my 2001 Casio Keyboard
There are so many more things I haven't posted but for me, they'e the things with the most sentimental value.
Naks! I like that! Old things... For me its a treasure! Soon I will share my collection also. A great collection hehehe
Thanks bro! I sure will check yours out.
