Sophia, the first Robot Granted Citizenship in Saudi Arabia

Sofia is a Female Robot who doesn’t cover her face or head and has no social restrictions as Female in that society. You should know that in Saudi Arabia, women cannot go outside without Male Guardian.

Women got their right to vote as recently as September 2011. They can not make major decisions without male permission. All women in the kingdom are considered to have a male – an official guardian.

They can not Wear clothes or make-up that ”show off their beauty“

They can not Interact with men. The majority of public buildings, including offices, banks, and universities, have separate entrances for the different sexes.

They can not Go for a swim, They cannot read an uncensored fashion magazine. They can not Compete freely in sports. 

Yet, last year, Saudi Arabia proposed hosting an OLIMPIC GAMES without women. 

Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, especially with regards to protecting women, has often been called into question.

Saudi Arabia is the world’s most gender-segregated nation but their first female robot has all the freedom that real Humanoid women in Saudi don’t what a fair system.

No disrespect to Saudi Arabia Citizenship. I am just ruminating on it. 

 If we are willing to give special rights to robots we create to represent a certain segment of people we feel are better in robot form, we fail to see the inherent beauty and reality of those we feel can be improved upon as a gender, race, class by reinventing the wheel - we are better served by changing outdated cultural and religious norms than attempting to humanly correct a divinely created being (by Divine I don’t mean to say only by God, but even Darwinian-based beliefs show that those who survive natural selection are stronger than those we no longer know-we should never let one group recreate another and give the new creation what we aren't willing to let the original do, and excel at, without at first attempting to set them free from prejudice.)
