American Civil Liberties Union Raises Concern Over Fever-Detecting Drones

The police in Florida have allegedly been toying with the idea of opting to use a new device for their regular activities. They reportedly had a new plan for a tool that might help to keep their communities safe during this time, a drone that is capable of taking someone's temperature from a significant distance.

American Civil Liberties Union Voices Concern

The Florida branch of the ACLU has expressed concerns for this move, citing privacy worries.

They caution that the drones will be collecting data and information in a potentially unjust manner, and that the data might not be accurate.

It seems to be a move that is rather unnecessary and unjustified, if being implemented with very little oversight or approval from the general public.

Beach areas around the United States are slowly starting to change things and reopen for people to explore, as more areas look to lift their lock down restrictions. But that could all change quickly, depending on what the state wants to do and how they see things progress as they move through various phases of that reopening process.

Civil liberties groups are rightly raising the alarm about Big Doctor in the sky, with drones that could be flying around and taking people's temperature from 300 feet in the air, paid for by those individuals being violated no less.

The drone in question is almost $30k, comes with a loud speaker and a camera. For now, it's reportedly being placed only in the lobby of the police department.

Aside from taking temperature readings, drones have also been used to help enforce social distancing rules at this time as well. In Savannah, Georgia, they have used multiple drones to remind people to keep a safe distance from others.
