I wonder if these things still let you exit to the boot menu during startup so you can manually access a restore point? My stuff is backed up daily, but I wouldn't want any remnants of that kind of crap on my machine...
I don't think so, You see Ransomware attack has happened all over the world, from the biggest companies like yahoo to the smallest organisations, so they all would probably have tried it and If it was possible, so Ransomware wouldnot have been a big threat like that. They say even today there is no solution of it. So I don't think they might have missed that easy step to try, So the answer according to me would be no.
