Thursday: Android App of the week

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

Hey there its @davidekpin and am here to help you master your mobile technology, Every Thursday I will be picking my android app of the week, all in a bid to help enhance productivity on your android device.

And my android app of the week is

GREENIFY

What is Greenify
Greenify is a light weight yet very powerful android application that enables or aids you to hibernate other applications on your mobile device.

Why Greenify?
This app is simply amazing and i did give all five stars on playstore. Its an all in one app that covers three major aspect that determine how great your mobile experience will be. These include Battery Life, Ram Management and Data Usage. In their own words on their about page on play store, the developers had this to say;

Never should your phone or tablet become slower and battery hungrier after lots of apps installed. With Greenify, your device can run almost as smoothly and lastingly as it did the first day you had it!
Greenify helps you identify and put the misbehaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in a unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground, similar to iOS apps!

Greenify does need background running services for auto-hibernation to work. It is designed and implemented in extremely lightweight and nearly zero CPU and battery consumption.

From my personal experience the stand by time after using greenify is comparable to Ios, so lets go right ahead to downloading this beuty.

Where to download
Hit the playstore and search for greenify or you can do a google search to download the apk file, then install on your device. Its entirely free.

How to use Greenify

  • Open the Greenify App and Add apps to Hibernation

  • Once the app installs, tap the “+” icon to add apps that you need to put into hibernation

  • Scroll down and tap “Show More Apps.”

Once you've completed the above, then move to the next steps.

  • Select all apps and hibernate

  • Long press on an app, once the app highlights, tap on all other apps. When you have selected all apps, click the tick mark icon to hibernate.

  • Trigger Manual Hibernation for Pending Apps

  • Now, you will be shown a short list of apps that are pending for manual hibernation. Select those apps and click the Zzz icon to start hibernation, wait for few seconds for the process to complete. Done.

Being a rooted user enables the app to work more efficiently without administrator access, non rooted users should follow the prompts on first launch and ensure to allow admin privileges.

Once again its @davidekpin and am here to help you master your mobile technology. Hope you enjoyed my app of the week and am looking forward to bringing you another great app next week, Happy Steeming.
