Bitcoin currently selling at $13,000 in Zimbabwe
Bitcoin is currently selling at an anomalous price now in Zimbabwe after Zimbabwe military seized power in an apparent coup.
Bloomberg reports that bitcoin is trading in Zimbabwe at over $13,000 which is nearly double the global price of bitcoin. The price quote comes from a cryptocurrency exchange in Zimbabwe which happens to be the only cryptocurrency exchange in Zimbabwe.
The Golix website shows a wide spread of bids with the current selling price settling at around $13,500. I personally checked other marketplaces for bitcoin in Zimbabwe and the prices are lower and in par with the global bitcoin price.
