My Heart Aches.

My heart aches for my nation
We look stagnant like an unchanged station
The older ones keep taking positions on rotation
They always turn against our determination
They stamp us under their feet so there won't be germination
They successfully kept everyone in hibernation
They do us as they will and determine our situation

They keep telling us the future belongs to the youths
We are no longer fooled since we know it's all myths
Every election they come with humble heart
We oblige them not knowing they are selling us in part
They turned us into a board and hurled at us their dart
Right on our faces, the pass out their smelly fart (sorry)
And give us stipends to run off with to the mart

It's easier to conclude and say that our leaders don't really care about us. They are in this for what they stand to gain and nothing more. They are not serving us, rather they are stamping us. It is so disturbing to see them travel all across the globe and see how things are being done and yet they won't pick those good parts, rather they will only pick the bad lessons. No country is perfect. Each has things ravaging her system and economy, but the least we could do is to have them show a little bit of concern for the citizens. Justice has gone to sleep.

All they are good at is in giving empty promises. Oh how we tend to fall every time without learning. They have turned us into a circus. They gather together and laugh us to scorn. They play us like a ludo game, you see them make a fool of us but we choose not to be fools anymore. The same set of people ruling and yet you say we are the future. Don't even get me started by saying the youths need to step up. How would they, when every time they want to, they used the power and fame they have accrued to stamp them down.

A time is coming when people will have a voice. We feel out voice could be through elections, and even at that, they found a way to infleunce it to suit them. God bless Nigeria.
All we can do is, develop ourselves. We already know they don't have us in mind, rather than complain all the time, let us just fight our way to the top and be the best we can be. It might take long, but then, they wouldn't take the credit for it. We need better managers and people with passion and love, people who know what it takes to lead and influence lives, people who rise to the top by values. People wup knows what it takes to lead. Until then, let's all develop ourselves and hope in God.
