UPDATE LOG #2
CURATION TRAIL

In yesterday’s update we let everyone know about our new initiative whereby @teamsouthafrica is now automatically upvoting member posts.¹ Have a look at the post again to make sure you understand the requirements for your posts to receive an upvote.

We also mentioned that we started a curation trail² which you can follow to help support your fellow team members.
Not sure what a curation trails is? In very basic terms - if you follow the Team South Africa curation trail, then for every post @teamsouthafica votes on, your account will automatically vote on that post too. The more members we can get following the curation trail, the better for the Team South Africa community as a whole.

So, as promised, here are the instructions on how to follow the @teamsouthafrica curation trail. If you already have a Streemian account, then please jump straight to step 12...

Instructions:

1. Go to http://www.streemian.com where you should be greeted with the following page.
Click on "Register" in the top right corner.



2. On the form, complete your Steemit Account Name, email address and choose a Streemian password (you’ll need to enter it twice).
Then tick "I’m not a robot", accept the TOS and finally click "Register".



3. You will then receive an email with a confirmation link - click on this link.
   The page that loads should thank you for confirming your email.


4. Scroll down on that page and look for the STEEM Account Verification transaction information.
   Copy the MEMO as is - this code is unique to you!



5. Now open another tab, head to your Steemit wallet and send 0.001 SBD to the account name streemian with the MEMO text you previously copied.
   If you do not have 0.001 SBD, let me know and we’ll help you out 😉



6. After you have sent the 0.001 SBD, go back to the Streemian page and refresh the page. The "Verify STEEM Account" block should now be ticked.


7. Now click the "Streemian’s Unlock App" button.



8. In a new tab, find your active private key by going to your wallet in Steemit and then clicking on Permissions.



9. Click the "login to show" button next to your Active keys and type in your password if required.
Now click the "Show Private Key" next to the Active key.
Your private key should now be visible (starts with a 5). Copy and paste this key and enter it together with your steemit name on the page that popped up in step 7.
Click the green "Upgrade Account" button.



10. If successful, you should get a confirmation message stating "Posting authorization successfully added" and the green button should now be red (don’t click it again).



11. It now takes a while for your authorization to work its way through the network - mine actually took a little over 2 hours! 😬
    Just refresh the page every now and then and eventually you’ll get all check marks like this.



12. Now that you’re all set up and authorized on Streemian, it’s time to set up the curation trail. Go directly to the Team South Africa curation trail by clicking here.


13. Click the green "Join Trail" button.



14. Access the custom settings by clicking teamsouthafrica under "Your Trails".



15. Change your settings as follows:
• Turn "Allow Downvote" off.
• Turn "Include votes on comments" off.
• If need be, adjust the "Scale Votes" slider. @teamsouthafrica will be doing a max of 10% votes on posts, so if you leave this at the default 100% setting then you will also be doing 10% votes on everyone’s posts. If you are not sure how this works, just leave it at 100%
• Adjust "Max Post Age" to 10080 (this helps for when Streemian goes down for a day or two so that you can catch up on missing votes).



16. Now click the "Update" button

And there you have it - you should now be following the Team South Africa curation trail - YEAH!! 😁 Please drop us a comment below if you follow our trail. Also, please feel free to ask for guidance if you get stuck during the setup.

The @teamsouthafrica account will follow all official members back - this is the ONLY official list of members. View the current list here.
2. Follow and upvote any existing members of Team South Africa that you share a common interest with (no need to follow all members).
3. Regularly check the #teamsouthafrica recent tags and upvote the content you like.
4. Comment here or DM me on Steemit.Chat or Discord informing me you would like to join.
5. Once you’re a member, remember to use the tag #teamsouthafrica as one of the tags on your posts.
6. The official Team South Africa banners and logos are only allowed to be used by official members or with consent from myself. When using a banner, it has to be linked to here and credit has to be given to the author.
7. These rules can change at any time. Please always make sure you are checking the latest post for the latest rules.

Note to current members

Please contact me so I can arrange to get you your Team South Africa banner (with your name on). I’ll send you the actual "code" you can copy and paste which will add the banner, link it, and credit the author at the same time.
