Cape Town water project update!
Only eleven days ago I posted about the water project that the schools in our area have started to collect as much water as we can to send to the people in Cape Town who needs it now more than ever.

Well, the project have ended and I'm proud to say that our school have managed to collect 8600 litres of water which was loaded onto a truck today and sent off to Cape Town.
However, that's not all. There were 16 schools in the area, all doing the same thing, and together we managed to collect:
150 000 litres

I'm guessing they'll have a good supply of donated water to last a while, and they will definitely receive more from other places as well, but the crisis isn't solved yet. Sooner or later, it will run out and we can only hope and pray that a solution comes soon!

There are projects on the go however these take time so in the interim smaller projects such as these are of great help.
It was mayhem at a stage. Bottled water was sold out all over. The people were queuing outside the mineral water stores which eventually shut their doors. I can't imaging what it will be like when the taps actually do run dry.
Let's hope it doesn't reach that point...
It sounds just awful. I can't imagine not having water,especially with children.
Wow!!! That is a fantastic result. It is amazing what people can do when they come together in a time of need. I am sure that the deliveries were greeted with a multitude of smiles and happy faces. It may not seem like a lot but sometimes the littlest things can have a massive impact on the lives of others. Thank you for sharing this story.
Hi @broncofan99. Thank you for your comment. I agree. Water is the gift of life which I'm sure nobody would say "no thank you" to. They won't ask questions like "Where does it come from?" and I'm sure they'll just be too thankful. The other thing is, of course, what it teaches the learners who made it possible.
You guys did a great job. I'm sure it will be put to good use. We had a drought a couple of years ago where I live. It was nothing like what Cape Town is experiencing, but it did make me all the more thankful for the rain. I pray that they get rain soon!
At times its not the great things or projects we do that bring the greatest impact but the small things that shows even the least amongst us in our societies that there is someone out there who cares.

nice project but it seems , waste of time not practical ,why you do not suggest a big project like to pull the water from the sea which needs more help from others and abig financial support.
Hi @abudabor I'd like to think you're not suggesting that we haven't thought of that yet. It's obviously the most obvious solution, but it's also time consuming and costly and something that should but isn't happening yet. We have taken matters into our own hands for the moment. It might seem like of waste of time to others, but to those who need it now, it means the world.
the big problem for the final solution is the financial support which almost missing and impossible ,you need encourage others to donate for the final solution . thanks for your reply
