Officially accepting SBD today.

Today will be the day where all steemians can seek medical consultation and pay by using their most precious SBD in Poliklinik Prisma Inanam.

It will be an exciting journey.

However, I would be lying if there are no problem at all using or accepting SBD . Especially at our end.
Since SBD value against MYR is constantly fluctuating, it would perceived to be a hassle to change STEEM to fiat money everyday.
However, it really up to the merchant. Since they are already in cryptocurrency industry. Most would have known the benefit of keeping it.

I think this is the main concern faced by all potential merchants out there when making decision to accept SBD as one of the mode of payment in exchange for their services or merchandises.

I am going to share why we are ready to accept SBD as another option to pay for our service?

CONFIDENCE.
This by far the single most important factor used when making decision.

I could imagine when fiat money was first introduced to the world several hundred years ago. How was the Chinese reacted when fiat money was introduced by the Yuan Dynasty about 1000 AD. How could they accept a paper in exchange for their goods? Were their confidence strong or fear forced them to accept? If the later was the main driven factor, it will not last.

Gold or silver coins were the only precious metal accepted by merchant as a commodity money.
Fiat money was not widely accepted as an alternative to commodity money or representative money for a very long time. Not until in the 20th century. It took thousands of years to accept fiat money. But now, everybody are using fiat money. Because of confidence.

I believe, for confidence to build up, it's a natural process for people to be careful, watch and learn. It only need 1 person or organisation to start the chain reaction. Bitcoin have started and followed by hundreds cryptocurrency inventor. That include STEEM and STEEM BLOCKCHAIN DOLLAR (SBD).
When then natural process completed, everybody will have no problem using and accepting crypto coins, that include STEEM or SBD.

When most cryptocurrencies are mined through the proof or work (pow), @dan and @ned were creatively have invented a new way of mining cyrptocurrency that is through delegated Proof of Stack (dPOS). (I hope I got it right).
Most importantly the platform that they have created are not owned by them, but owned by you and me and whoever have joined steemit.com. That is called decentralising. Please read here and here for more interesting views about decentralising.

We are also indirectly responsible for the future of this platform by selecting 30 witnesses carefully through transparent voting system. The top 30 witnesses will be given the power to guide steemit.com in order to make it better and better. We know it is going to be a better future because that is why we voted them in the first place. Those who are interested, can also directly participate in guiding steemit platform by promoting themselves as one of the witness.Of course they would be the term and conditions. I don't know it yet.

We should keep STEEM and SBD in steemit.com platform as long as possible and only use it when necessary.

For that to happen, we need more merchants to participate and start accepting SBD as their next commodity money.

Imagine if we have merchants that start taking SBD as payment, merchants that provide us with our daily need, the SBD value will inevitably continue to increase. Merchants by this time, will probably know how to manage their crypto coins effectively and can potentially get more profits.

Alternatively, a group or very wealthy steemians can invest in a hybrid mega mall where everything we need and we want can be found in it. This could be a place for all steemians to carry out their economic activities.
That could be the future.
