Embracing the Malaysian Nonya Side of Me
Time for some traditional wear with wedges heels?
Yes, when there's a special occasion. 😅
Otherwise it is super rare to see me in a Malaysian traditional clothing to be honest.
But this round I finally found something that is comfortable to wear!
It's not dirt cheap, but it was worth while because it is quite comfortable to wear; although I do need to probably find a way to either hem the bottom or, follow my late grandmother, use her magnificent nonya
belt (which is kept somewhere deep in one of my boxes) that she uses to keep her sarong (traditional tube garment for the bottom part that is made of beautiful traditional batik fabric printing design.
When my colleagues saw me wearing the baju kebaya (usually also worn by nonya ladies) they were pretty much screaming in joy and excitement.
One of my adorable colleague who loves selfies wanted us to take a photo so that she can remember this rare moment until my next reason to wear it again. haha.
I hardly put my photo up here because it doesn't really matter, but this picture is just too adorable not to be shared.
This outfit is pretty much going to be worn either in a set during special occasions or change it to pants when I want to wear it when I feel like it. haha.
As I have promised my colleagues that I will not let this beautiful modernly designed traditional garment (made of silk and Japanese Crepe fabric) be a one time thing.
When I bought this it is about 21 USD. People up till size 14 - 16 (depending on your waist and bust as well).
If anyone who is interested to purchase it let me know. #teammalaysia can purchase it using SBD and I will arrange order to send them over too / tell them where to get it.
What do you think? Would you give it a try and embrace this beautiful traditional comfortable wear?
(It comes in many other colours from pink, to maroon, turquoise, blue, green, yellow, etc)
Thank You for Your Time
