Getting to know LEDGIT
I, for one, am not someone who holds on dearly to traditions. Being born to a Chinese family, there are a lot of traditions as we’ve been in existence for more than 5,000 years!
I can still recall while I was growing up, I used to go for family gatherings during every festive season. During that time, to be honest, I did find myself dreading to attend, especially during my rebellious teenage years. But it is when I studied abroad, I've begun to realize that those festive celebrations and family gatherings were very much part of my life.
When I started my own family in Kuala Lumpur, about 1,600km away from home, family gatherings during festive seasons like Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival were literally impossible as well. I wondered if I would be able to ‘pass on’ such traditions to my own children.
I’m very sure it is not only the Chinese that has their certain practices and habits. I’ve come to believe the very definition of a culture is a collective people leading their lives in a certain way. Culture, in fact, defines a huge part of us.
As I’m doing my research on LEDGIT, I bumped into the ‘legacy’ feature and it definitely caught my eye. It aims to help its users in passing down certain traditions and culture. Technology has often been about moving forward into the future, but LEDGIT is attempting to preserve what is good from the past and pass it down to the next generation.
I’m eager to see how LEDGIT can bring this to fruition, whether through an app or website, the possibilities of carrying forward a message are endless. What I’m glad to see is that they are committed to this aspect of life – the cultural side to it.

Yeah, i used to not see the point of culture and family traditions as i just found them be annoying and troublesome. But for some weird reason, i've slowly been starting to change my tune. Now the thought of my family tradition and practices eventually dying off sort of scare me. And i don't even know why. It feels like a sort of losing of one's identity.
Anyways, ledgit sounds interesting! Keep us updated!
thanks for dropping by man. yeah. I guess when we start to grow older we start to look back. or even ponder about leaving a legacy. hopefully it's not due to the lack of 'things' to look forward to.
I'm also wondering what's in store for the users of ledgit. :)
