Cape Breton Nova Scotia. One of the Most Beautiful Spots on Planet Earth

in #teamcanada7 years ago (edited)

Hello readers, anyone familiar with myself and my blog know I'm a very proud Canadian. Living in the second biggest country on earth we're very fortunate to have some incredible and awe inspiring scenery.

I'm on the eastcoast of Canada in a province called Nova Scotia.

On the far eastern tip is the island of Cape Breton. It's home to one the the best drives in the world and gets voted as such every year by many different travel organizations, newspapers and websites. It's named the "Cabot Trail"

The trail twists and turns thru hills, mountains and much of it is along or has views of the coast.

The best time to take the trail ride is this time of year. The fall is when the leaves change color and you can see such sights as this..

Much of the drive is along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and winds up and around the Cape Breton Highlands, all with spectacular views

The trail is actually a highway that's 300 km in length. There's so much to see that many tourists take a week to complete the drive

Taking advantage of the influx of visitors you'll find many great seafood restaurants, shops and travel related adventure companies set up with a litany of outdoor activities to enjoy

Wildlidlfe is in abundance, everything from moose, eagles, deer, puffins, bear and whales are familiar sights along the drive

The people in this region are also super friendly, but what else would you expect when you visit Canada?

Cape Breton is home to a vibrant Celtic community and you'll also find French Acadians. It all amounts to a great cultural experience but I think it's safe to say the views what most people come to see

Many areas along the trail are protected wildlife sanctuaries and there's also a large swath of land that is a UNESCO world heritage site.

I'd encourage anyone planning a trip to Eastern Canada to come check out Cape Breton and drive the Cabot Trail. Just make sure to contact me and maybe I'll come with :)

It's been a few years since I've been to Cape Breton I'm sad to say. It's about a four hour drive form where I'm at in Halifax, but I think next fall I'm going to go for the trip and blog about it.

Excellent post. A thorough geography lesson, with great photos to enchant us.

Go Team Canada!!

It does look an amazing place. And always I have heard or saw images from Canada they are beautiful.

Wow, that looks awesome - now on the list!

Awesome! I'm happy to promote my province and thx so much for stopping by @holbien81 😎

Wow, those pictures are absolutely gorgeous. If where you live has even a semblance of this you are lucky. I have never had the chance to visit Nova Scotia, the furthest North I have been has been Maine in the US, but this may be a trip I may have to make in the future.

Superb

One day I will drag the whole family to go there.

But daaaayyyuuuummm I just checked air flight BC to there as expensive if not more as flying to Montreal or even South East Asia 😅

Yes it makes no sense. I can fly from here down south or to the US cheaper than flying out west. Is Canada too big or what?

Darn it. Come to think of it, I think it is too big 😂

I really need to visit the Maritimes again, my dad is from PEI so mpst of my trips down that way are full of seeing family, I need to set some time aside and really see the sites

I looked into buying a land in Cap Breton and it's pretty cheap and it is beautiful there.

Yeah very cheap. Not too many jobs is the drawback

looks like a watercolour painting, infact, you should paint it

I'm afraid I couldn't do it justice. Luckily I can look out the window and see the ocean and a vast array of color

One of my goals is to own an island in Nova Scotia.

There are worse goals haha Thx for stopping by @joechou
