Bike with me #1 / A bike tour through Jorgensen Park
Hello friends, welcome to my second "Bike with me" post, this time of the wonderful Jorgensen Park in the Perth Hills in Western Australia. The tour is approximately 6km long. The downhill is easy, but the uphill is offroad and very hard.
Please find my first "Bike with me" of the "Kalamunda National Park" here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@speed-harry/introduce-myself-speed-harry.
For your orientation, I have numbered the locations of the videos according to the below map. I edited the map, in that I copied a satellite view of Google Maps into Gimp, and created a route with numbers.
The location in Google Maps is here: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-31.9714347,116.0897694,1983a,35y,270h,38.89t/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en&authuser=0
You can find a download for the Gimp image processing application here: https://www.gimp.org/
The video series starts close to the Kalamunda Central shopping center.
Here I am heading into Mundering Weir Road and then taking the turn-off into Hummerston Road. While it is all downhill, Hummerston Road is considerably steeper. I have to be careful that I do not apply too much pressure on the front brake.
Now it is still going downhill very steeply, there are some beautiful houses on both sides of Hummerston Road.
At the bottom of Hummerston Road I take a sharp left turn into Schipp Road, it is a gravel road that enters into the Piesse Brook Restoration Area. 450m after that turn-off, you will find a trail on the left hand side heading up the hill back in direction of Jorgensen Park.
Can you identify the rock as being Australia? Amazing isn't it? You will find this rock at location number 9. I am pointing at the place where I live, which is Perth.
Finally, I am now heading into the Jorgensen Park from the East and heading in the direction of Kalamunda. This is the place where many people spend their time taking their dogs for a walk.
I hope you have had a good insight into the tour. I had great fun preparing this post for you. I would also like to thank my mate on the camera for the support. I am very thankful to you for being my follower 💛.
