Political Correctness gone mad again

For anyone with children in Australia and UK (though a friend did show me a hilarious Flemish translation) they would be aware of Peppa Pig. This seemingly innocent show about a group of talking animal children learning life lessons.

But it appears the Peppa Pig has been trying to BRAINWASH our children and teach them BAD lessons.

Did you know that in 1 Episode, Peppa Pig finds a massive hairy spider (whom she proptly calls Mr Hairy Legs) and instead of running scared with a packed nappy, she actually observes the spider and talks to it. Eventually re-homing it outside so that it can climb the water pipe. Like OH MY GOD!!!!!! How can the ABC allow such horrible messages be played on our TV's for our kids to see!!!

Obviously I'm taking the piss, but sadly this isn't the case for many other people. A group of sooky la la's have complained loud enough that the ABC have banned the above episode from being played on Australian TV. The ABC cites that it encourages kids to play with spiders and it doesn't teach kids that spiders can kill you.
Sure the show is made in Britian (a country that doesn't boast the long list of animals that want you dead) and Australia has a list as long as your arm of spiders that will kill you. But for christ sake, its a kids show. The show was trying to tell kids that you need tolerance and not to automatically be scared of things just because other people are.

If we are at a point where we have to start banning Peppa Pig, we may as well jsut shut down the TV stations because there is a hell of a lot worse shows out there. Whats next, Play School wont be allowed to have Big Ted because it labels him at Big? The Wiggles will all have to wear beige skivvies so that there is no favourtism between colours?
