Where else can you earn Steem?steemCreated with Sketch.

It has come to my attention that a lot of people don't know that there are other places you can use besides Steemit in order to create content and earn more steem.

It's worth noting that all of these places are still using the steem blockchain, and because of that. If you post on any of them, all posts will still show up on steemit.

I'm going to name a few places and give a brief description of each one.

Busy.org

busy.org is exactly the same as steemit and is my favourite interface to use for blogging. The difference is it's just a bit nicer. It is a bit more user-friendly and has some nice added features. Such as:

  • A live widget in your wallet, which shows you the current value of steem and steem dollars.
  • When you hover your mouse over your potential earnings, it will tell you how long until you will be paid out, and how much you will get in curation and in creator reward.
  • If you hover over your likes, it will show you who liked your post, and how much their vote was worth.
  • Busy supports full markdown, meaning it is easier to write content and add images.

Dtube

d.tube is Steems version of Youtube. It is exactly that, you can upload videos just the same as you would on youtube, and you can get subscribers. In the case of d.tube subscribers are exactly the same as an upvote. But d.tube just calls them subscribers.

d.tube is super awesome if you're into video blogging or just video creation in general.

Steepshot

Steepshot is a mobile app, that is steems version of Instagram. You take a picture and it uploads it for people to like. When you're on Steepshot it only filters photos from Steem, so you won't see or be able to post any blogs on this platform. But it is a nice feature to have if you just want to post a quick snap onto steem.

Dlive

dlive is much like d.tube, however, this platform allows you to live stream video straight to the steem network. Which can be super handy in certain cases.

Dlive still supports video upload so it doesn't need to be live streamed.

That's It

So there you go, A list of other useful places to earn steem, I think if you were able to do a mix between the different platforms you would be able to get a lot of content going very quickly.

These are the only ones I personally know about, I'm sure there are more out there. If anyone knows of any please comment below as I would love to know what else there is!

As always thanks for reading!

There's a few methods out there. And more being developed every day.

One thing to be cautious of is the percentage of earnings that some of these front ends take, for example, busy.org takes a percentage of your Steemit earnings. I'm not sure what it is, something like 25%. You can use the busy tag in your list of tags however to get an upvote from busy which can often make up for this percentage taken.

A really interesting post could be other ways to earn Steem without using a front end though. There are some artists on here who sell their artwork in exchange for Steem for example.

Agreed, I wasn't aware the busy did that, I knew the d.tube took a 25% cut. Good to know. Although as you said with the tag busy, that pretty much covers it.

I will look into other ways people are earning steem :P I agree that would be interesting.

Nice post mate. As a total beginner, it took me ages to find some of these things. There seems to be this assumption on steemit that everyone knows everything about block chain, cryptos and how to use steemit. This is a pretty good guide on other ways you can use these things. I'm gonna get started on steepshot!

Thanks mate!

Yes I agree it seems that the people who created steemit and all these other sites just kind of assumed everyone would know where to go. But I find that a lot of people on here have no idea about blockchain tech. So that is why a lot of my posts have been about blockchain and all of that stuff.

Btw I am collaborating with a guy on steem, who is creating a reference page for new people to go to. steemaustralia.com. I've already helped out with FAQs on the site, he even put me down as a contributor which is nice haha. But as that site grows, it is just going to be full of helpful info for everyone one steem. If you want to help out at all go to this post here, and read up on it. Then you can help out if you would like to :D
