I've simplified greatly and plan to go even further but I'm still in the States. Unfortunately the hubby is the steady income and he hasn't really considered being an expatriate -- but I have been talking more and more about it and maybe he's starting to listen?
Panama hasn't been on our radar at all but I'm starting to look at Mexico with some interest.
Mexico is a great option especially if you want to live in communities around other English speakers. The Yucatan and Baja are great but more expensive than places like Acapulco. Take a few trips and test the waters.
