How Tauchain can empower Africa from the start
Tauchain Alpha will be a social platform
First for some interesting statistics:
- 1.2 billion is the estimated total population of Africa. That is a lot of people.
- Many African people and African countries embrace new technologies. This is evident from the fact that Africans have been using digital currencies via smart phone (MPesa) for years before there was a Bitcoin.
- African minds represent a mostly untapped resource (human resource). As the Internet connects people together it will be important to allow all minds to contribute to the growing crypto ecosystem.
- Nigeria, Morroco, South Africa, all have Internet access. Of course there are many more countries than this but these are three examples. MPesa in specific is already operating in South Africa.
Because the Tauchain Alpha product will be a social platform it will be both possible and in my opinion desirable to onramp Africans. This means the outreach would be to help Africans set up accounts which means websites and 1 on 1 level outreach if necessary. If we look at Steem as an example of success then we can see even in 2018 there are many Africans who benefit currently from the current iteration of blockchain technology. Tauchain will be state of the art and Africans must be encouraged and allowed to interact with the state of the art tech.
The Agoras Knowledge Market
In my opinion there should be an outreach to Africans to promote Agoras Knowledge Market when it launches. This in my opinion will immediately allow Africans to contribute knowledge and earn crypto rewards in exchange.
A knowledge market rewards the generation of new knowledge. It rewards contribution of knowledge. It allows people to sell their knowledge. This can be possible provided the Tauchain platform can scale via microtransactions to allow millions of people to interact with it in real time. I do not know yet if this will be possible. This is something we can help make possible.
The Microtask Market
Microtasks are relatively simple tasks which require human computation to complete. Artificial intelligence cannot do everything better than people. For the things which artificial intelligence cannot or should not be doing there will be a required microtask market. This concept already is in development on other platforms. To provide an example you can see Gems.org which advertises itself as a decentralized "mechanical turk".
In an ideal scenario Tauchain will launch Agoras and with it a microtasking infrastructure allowing anyone with an Internet connection anywhere on the planet to log in and do microtasks. In my opinion this is the future of work for many people as telecommuting, digital nomad, and online income become increasingly mainstream. Provided that this infrastructure is in place it can benefit Africans whom can take on microtasks and receive quite a decent income due to the lower cost of living in African countries compared to other places.

Africa has been one of the most hit countries in the economic crisis of the last decade, it would be good to see Africa emerge, the Africans with the new platform that comes out have the opportunity to seek economic relief.
