Yes you read it right in the title of the post. A restaurant made on theme of Mud -

Themis Mudhouse

The restaurant is located in Haryana,India. So we have been hearing about this one, how different its decor is and how unique it would be to visit it. Last week, I finally got the chance of visiting it with my family while we were travelling. The experience was more amazing than I thought.

Let's see it.

Let's see the THEMIS MUDHOUSE

This is the entry of the place. It was dark and there is reflection of lights around the name board.

This is how it looks from parking:

This is the view from entrance - the walking aisle.

On both the sides of the place, there were vehicles dummy standing. On one side they put the traditional village vehicle made of wood - A bullock Cart. While on the other side, they put a motor running vehicle which is used in modern Indian Villages.

This is my family walking on the bright aisle with eye-catching stuff kept on one side with sitting arrangement on another side.

On this right side of the walking aisle, they put wooden chair and tables for those who want to sit outside and enjoy. But since it summers in India you won't see anyone sitting outside.

On the left side of aisle here, you see some unique stuff. There was an instrument in which you can see an old Indian Movie, a pottery guy, dancing ladies and much more. Coming further

Now right where we reached the entrance of the restaurant itself, they had this Hookah. My dad is posing here with Hookah for a picture. Hookah made of wood is used in Indian Villages mostly by elderly men to smoke pot.

Along with Hookah were some major highlights of Indian mudhouses- Villages:

An earthen pot, green grass, utensil, bicycle, flowers:

Now Let's see the restaurant from the inside. It was bright and clean. When you think of eating in a mudhouse - you will end up having confused thoughts. But unlike what I thought, walls were made of solid dry mud and the roof was made of wood hatches. Although I think there must have been brick usage to make the place a solid one otherwise it would flow during rain.

Here is the ceiling highlighted, there were two kinds of fancy lights hanging there:

I was in love with this light hanging above the ceiling, it gave me such old Indian feelings with a super touch of creativity.

Now let's see the sitting area, here are my parents who are always ready to pose for me. :)

Also outside the entrance we got some pictures clicked with the cool stuff:

On the aisle, there were village girls hired for dancing. They were basically asking the visitors to stop and dance with them, it was fun. My dad and I did while other from my family stared. Lol, we are the fun people.

Also the pottery guy was sitting right there waiting for someone, we went and gave it a shot.

Now that's all about how the mudhouse looked. Let's see the menu and the food

Ambience Rating - 5\5

Honestly when I was leaving the place, I was awestruck and I felt so good - like I came out of home to eat and I am here to enjoy. They actually offered it all.

Let's see the Menu Card

The design of their menu was really artistic. The font type, the material, the images of huts and other village elements - the Menu looked cool in its look and feel. But the menu had limited options - only North Indian Cuisine for the most part. Apart from North Indian Cuisine they offered some popular starters and Drinks. Although the place is on Indian Village theme, the menu obviously will not have western and other Asian cuisines so its justified.

Menu Rating - 4\5

Finally - the food

So we ordered North Indian Cuisine as this is what the place was about. So we ordered

--Tadka Dal
--Paneer Do Pyaza
--Tawa Roti
--Missi Roti

The Green Chutney and the Sirka Onion always come as complementary dressing. If I tell you about the food - it was mind-blowing. They made a better Tawa Roti than what I eat at home hehe. Seriously the food was so good, perfect balance of Indian Spices and Cooking style.

Food Rating - 4.9\5

The food was amazing, this is one the best restaurant food experiences I have ever had that even at fair prices. Leaving 0.1 in rating for any sort of improvement that I might have missed because I was lost in Ambience of the place.

I haven't had Indian food recently @vibesforlife, and this has me craving some chicken tika and saag paneer right about now. I love these together!

Ohh that's a deadly combination. Go for it when you get a chance

Such an incredible dining experience, @vibesforlife! I was so enchanted by the pictures of the restaurant (and you're right, not at all what I expected when I heard mudhouse), I almost forgot you went there to eat! So many wicked cool things about the place, like the flower covered bicycle, and that light (great job capturing it). And that food looks amazing! I think some restaurants try to offer so many options that they don't do any of them very well, and focusing on one specific menu means they can do it right, and based on your rating, it's really working for them! Thanks so much for letting us experience this awesomesauce place with you!

yeaahh wickedly amazing place. Exactly small menu but a well done one. Thank you for stopping by and checking my post traciyork :) have a good day :)
