YL Tasteem#5 KweiKee tofu factory, Hong Kong

Dear fellow Steemians,

Today I want to introduce a special recommendation in Hong Kong, it's a snack bar named "KweiKee tofu factory" which really featured in my life or my neighborhoods.

In the very old time(40+ years perhaps), lots of business here in Hong Kong will called themselves a factory, like knife factory, textile factory or tofu factory etc. instead of some names. They also like to name it with their name plus a word "Kee". So the name of KweiKee tofu factory is came out like this.

At the entry, there is a sales counter sells different types of soy products. Like varieties of tofu, Yuba, gluten puffs, Fermented bean curd, chili sauces etc. It's hard to tell in English but these are very common in Chinese life.

Featured snack/dessert must be what I showed in GIF, tofu fa/tofu pudding!! It's the best dessert in the world. And here definitely the best "tofu fa" I have ever had in my life. Honestly I am having it every week. Irresistibly YUM!


You have 2 ways to finish it, 1) Just have it plain since it already mixed with a little syrup OR 2) like the GIF, add a little or some yellow sugar on it with richer flavors. I can't wait to have one now even though I already had it!!!

After a bit sweety, a fried & stuffed tofu can do the balance trick. You can mix with many sauces to have, personally I only come with soy sauce(salty), some people like sweet can have it with "Hoisin" sauces, some others can do it with chill sauces. Handful of people will just have it plain, quite good still as you can taste how the mixture of stuffed fish meat and tofu really likes.

Finally, a good tip from me is to buy the soy milk in bottle before you leave to save a penny. As order in store will pay a little extra but it's really not much different, so your call!


The is the meau written in Chinese only, with the Chinese number(like some symbols I'm not really understand). So simply it's very cheap. Tofu fa is 1.3 STEEM, fried & stuffed tofu is 1.4 STEEM, soy milk in medium size is 2.8 STEEM.

Pricing:
Tofu fa/tofu pudding: 1.3 STEEM
fried & stuffed tofu: 1.4 STEEM
soy milk(take away): 2.4 STEEM to 3.1 STEEM
variety of soy products 0.3 STEEM to 6.3 STEEM

This time I spent: 4.5 STEEM
(Typical dessert for Hong Kong people is 4.2 STEEM)

15 mins walking from transportation
