Toci by the cafe
I was at the hospital very early in the morning without having breakfast due to fasting requirement of the lab exam. It took almost three hours for all the procedures to be completed and left me starving. I no longer wanted to go anywhere but to the nearest food store. That is the food court at the lower ground floor of the hospital.
Cafeteria by Chef Florabel was one of the stores that have full meal options so I got in. The place was almost empty. I actually do not expect food stores in a hospital to be as busy as restaurants outside.
I once had a meal here during my previous visit by did not pay much attention to the prices of other meal options. I was shocked to see this time the prices of breakfast meals. It was almost like the price of fine dining. They say that this hospital is expensive (thanks to my HMO otherwise I may be in a different hospital) but I was not expecting that even foods are also expensive.
Anyway, it was good that their breakfast meals are for all-day so there is no cut-off of when to have them.
Some of those on the breakfast menu were also displayed on the counter. I wonder where the others are when there are still vacant trays.
I first thought of daing na bangus or the dried milkfish but thought of the fishy smell afterwards. I picked pork tocino instead.
Tocino is bacon in Spanish,[1] typically made from the pork belly and often formed into cubes in Spain. In Caribbean countries, such as Puerto Rico and Cuba, tocino is made from pork fatback and is neither cured nor smoked but simply fried until very crunchy; it is then added to recipes, much like the way lardons are used in French cuisine. In the Philippines, tocino refers to sweetened and cured pork belly.[2]
The crew asked, "what's your drink ma'am? Coffee or iced tea?"
When food crews ask for drinks with specific options, those usually come with the meal set. Otherwise, they will just ask what do you want for drinks.
"Why? Do breakfast meals come with drinks?"
"Yes, ma'am."
I looked up to the overhead menu again and yes, the meal comes with drinks but only two options, coffee or iced tea. I have been avoiding coffee but I too have been chilling due to the strong airconditioning of the building. It has to be coffee for now.
I paid for my order and took a seat. The tables have this reservation reminder that those are for Cafeteria customers only. It is not the typical food court after all that anyone can sit down and have their meal wherever they have bought it.
On the wall is also this reminder that no foods or drinks from other food stores are allowed. There. It is really not the food court type.
My coffee was first served, as usual. I was a bit disappointed to see that it was in a paper cup. When I spend for meal that is more than twice as expensive as my regular meals, I expect something more, at least on the kitchenware they use or the presentation of the food. With PhP210.00 (US $4.11) meal, I expected my coffee in a cup. Anyway, I just told myself that I won't drink the container after all.
The whole restaurant was quiet that I was getting sleepy. Okay, the coffee has its purpose.
Few more minutes and my breakfast was served. Ah, there are pickles. I also did not notice that in the menu so it becomes a bonus. I just hoped there were more.
When I prepared my coffee, I noticed one of the sugar sachets says "natural." Okay, that's a consulation. It was what I used and left the one with red labels.
Let's have one more shot of my expensive breakfast set before I start on it. 😄

I was not expecting for an upvote from team-ccc. I just wanted to contribute to the team community by using the tag. It does not sound fair when you automatically assumed that people are expecting for an upvote just because they use the tag. If you think my post is not worth ccc upvote, you can just bypass it and you need not even comment on my post. It is not making anything good to contribute to the post.
And maybe you would want to try to understand why there was no invitation. That is because my post is an entry to a contest that was posted on tasteem.io. With all due respect to tasteem, I do not want to exploit their website and contest by plugging something totally not related to the contest.
With countless tasteem posts that I made using the ccc tag, this is the first time that I am getting this comment. Any issue, @wakeupkitty?
Thanks by the way for using the team ccc account to comment. It gives me a way to upvote for it. I have been wanting for that account to grow so it is in my auto-vote list but it has not been used to post for a long time. It is just being used for upvoting. Maybe it can also grow if it will be used to host the contests.
There is a contest hosted for a longer time by @team-ccc but the interest became low after @freedomshift said it had to be about the community only. Since the community started (hive-166850) the contest was hosted by @team-ccc or @hive-166850. @team-ccc posted more like contests running, etc but if no one notices it...

No one notices it of the account is not being used in engaging. I see you yourself @wakeupkitty have been posting and commenting about members should be engaging as much as possible. That certainly applies to the team account too.
I did everything I could it takes me hours a day to visit members, upvote them, I posted 4 posts a week with the account sorry, but I cannot do more. I have a life too, two accounts, I sponsor more as two CCC- contest, I gave comment on but every founder of this community let me down and if it comes to it we only have 4-5 active members. They host, sponsor, comment, fill other members their wallets the rest doesn't seem to care.
I invested in starting a hive for this community and need to figure out everything on my own. These are facts, no complaints but if the whole community depends on me something is seriously wrong. @ freedom gave up on it too, is disappointed in Steemit and only stays for a handful of people. 🙁
