Just the other day, I went craving for piece of a curry dish. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does I usually go for a Chinese style curry.
One of the qualities of this type of curry is its "creaminess" and it's also less spicy compared to the Indian style curry dishes.
I found the type of curry dish that suits my liking at a seemingly unlikely place, a toast cafe called the Toast Box. This place actually especialize bread toast with Kaya together with coffee or milk tea.
In addition, they also served some lunch meals that I liked, one of it is the Chicken Curry dish with rice.
What I liked about this dish is the chicken that is fall-off-the-bone tender and the curry sauce really sip into. I can taste it on every bit.
I personally like the belnd of aroma and spice, it isn't too strong and punchy. I think the cream/coconut milk really help balance the dish. In addition, the potatos are well cooked as well. I normally mash the potatos together with rice & add the curry sauce over it - it's really tasty even without the chicken meat.
Another thing that I want to commend is the "homeee" feeling inside the cafe. The interior is well designed and well lit as well. The only thing that put me off is the size and type of chairs used, it's quite small and it isn't comfortable enough to stay longer for a chat.
Overall, I enjoy my lunch and it was really filling. The serving is substantial enough and the curry sauce is plenty. Carving satisfied!
