Foodie Tasteem#50 - Lǎo Sān Tái
Hello Steemians, Hello Hong Kong!!
After a week of amazing sharing, please allow me to share something simple and it's Taiwanese foods!
In my experiences, Taiwanese is about braised/marinated or deep-fried. Marinated beef or crispy chicken nugget are very famous foods in their daily life. There are loads of little stores selling them as a snacks you can buy it takeaway. Just like a quick bike before regular meal.
A counter that cook-after-order, so when you order noodles, they will make it right the way.
They also put the Japanese "bento" idea into their foods and mix it up, just the box below. Put in the rice, marinated eggs or veggies altogether.

They also offer some holiday specials with more valuable prices, a main with soup or snack.
I really love the idea of "bento" and so I ordered their signature traditional boxed meal. It contains, marinated beef, crispy chicken nugget, marinated egg, marinated cabbage and radish with rice.
I also had a soy milk aside after foods. :D
Those marinated beef and egg are really good as the flavour is deep inside of them, and that means they put a lot of time to handle it. The chicken nugget is just warm enough to eat, though I didn't expect much.
As for HK$42(US$5.5) a meal, it's pretty good price and it's really filling. I barely finish them.

Looks like a very convenient and economical place to come. They seem to offer a lot of variety and the packaging of the different foods together ready to take out is a nice idea. This is much better than our American "take out" meals. I've never seen marinated eggs like that. What kind of flavor are they marinated in?
I can say the quality of those foodcourt is rising, unexpected!!
They marinated those ingredients with soy sauce mainly plus some other herbs or spices, and this is the key!
